Nathan (NYC 3135) has gotten the whistle he has long awaited to replace his aging whistle. But it isn't what he expects: it sounds awful! So awful in fact, that he can't face having Craig hear it. Nathan quickly relearns just why trains have whistles in the first place.

Here's the funny thing. All the shots before 8:12 are of the whistle as made. After that, I changed it to simply take off the screech at the beginning as you hear after 8:12

Full Blown Chime...I get it! NYC whistles were solonoids, so there was no way to control how hard the whistle was being blown. It was either full blast or nothing. Also, Nathan wants a way to not blow his whistle (2:53), just do what my Niagara would do and use the air horn instead. Actually, did the Mohwaks have air horns?

It’s a 3 chime whistle, but A lot of people are saying it’s the RMS Oceanic 2, even though this episode was uploaded in 2008, which was a long time ago compared to 2022. Speaking of 2022, I’m still pondering if it’s really the RMS Oceanic’s whistle or just a 12 inch Crosby 3 chime.
