What is the notch on the back plate of spool for?
@GsTiteLines11 ай бұрын
Sorry, I can't figure out what notch you mean? Do you mean the toothed wheel for the ratchet? Cheers and Tite Lines G 👍

hi brother, what kind of free and line have you used on this reel, you have the same one.
@GsTiteLines4 ай бұрын
@jjjjj1930 Hey bro, the reel was already fitted with a Hardy Ultralite #4. It hadn't been used for some time, but after a clean, it was as good as new. Free? Cheers and Tite Lines G 👊🎣

My marquis 8/9 spool is out of round, can you give me an idea on how to fix it?
@GsTiteLines2 жыл бұрын
Is it the spool or body? Cheers G

@@GsTiteLines it's the spare spool, the other is no problem....

I think I've found the tight spot..... Emery cloth??
@GsTiteLines2 жыл бұрын
@@billyboyles yeah if your confident it's the right area that rubbing but I would be tempted to use a realy fine grain and quite literally do a tentative stroke a time and check it each time to make sure you don't take off too much.

My drags not working on this reel any ideas??

Let me have a think and a look at kine and I'll get back to you mate. When you say it's not working, is there no resistance on the spool? Cheers G

@@GsTiteLines thanks for reply, there is nothing when you tighten it, it is a little greasy but think it might need replaced maybe worn
@GsTiteLines8 ай бұрын
@daviemcp okaybit could be the drag washers/shims have deteriorated or the drag spring has gone. Again I will have a look at mine mate and try to establish what mat be wrong. I'm no expert, just a keen angler with engineering experience 😀

@daviemcp hi mate, I have had a look at mine and I think the most likely problem is that teeth on either spool central cog of the drag cog on the reverse of the drag switch are worn. If you look at the drag switch cog on the inside it is misshapen, so when turned, it increases the resistance on the spool cog and thereby creating drag. If the teeth are worn it will reduce the amount of drag. Does that make sense? Cheers bud G
