Episode 2 | The Taste Master SA | The Queen of Tarts Challenge

It’s the first elimination challenge on The Taste Master SA. Six contestants from the Vanilla Cake challenge go head-to-head in a challenge that will see two of them going home. It’s all about the art of the tart in this episode. Contestants learn how to tell a story through their food in a special masterclass presented by chef and guest judge Clem Pedro and then must use their newfound skills to wow the judges with the perfect tart.

Pinky got her Karma fs for talking trash about Senzo the whole time n she didn't even know him enough to judge his skills. Plus the fact he helps kids with hunger is amazing. He's actually a really sweet guy.

Josh got a free pass. A tart has a base of a sweet or savoury pastry, and when he was asked if his cook was a tart or not, he didn’t answer. He knew it wasn’t, borderline cheating. So unfair

I could sit and listen to Clem all day long!! Out of all the episodes I have watched, his MasterClass has been the most informative and interesting. He really cares about encouraging and imparting his wisdom to those up and coming in the cooking/baking industry.

I am watching this one year later, however i love it. That masterchef is a really great teacher, love his vybz. Shenzo really surprised me, hope he does well.

Judges were not fair on this challenge. If you fail to meet the brief, that should automatically disqualify a contestant. The 3 ladies all followed the instruction to mske s tart. This means a pastry base + filling = a TART and not a meri gue/nuts mixture ... irrespective if it looked pretty and tasted good. He took the easier route and benefited while the rest took the correct challenging route as required and 2 paid the price😓

I grew up seeing those frangipane flowers in Richards Bay at my granny's but 23 years of my life I didn't know their name until I watched this episode. Wow I like that as a skilled and experienced chef that I am I still continue to learn everyday
