The magic ball idea for using up the small scraps is brilliant! I would say your magic ball weighs 223 gms....you have some lovely yarns!

I'm so glad my longer heel flap tip has helped you. I love socks knit that way for my husband and I. No tight insteps! I am just finishing up my Cozy Knitter advent socks for this year (yes I started early). I ended up with 12 stripes for the leg and 16 stripes for the foot, so definitely more than 24 unless I want very short legs (I don't). Thanks for watching my podcast and for the shout-out! @@shaunastitches also super good information about the stripes! I was also thinking the heel in the cc wouldn’t be included either. I think I’m going to just go with my normal amount or rows and divide the work that way so I know I’ll have them done on Christmas 🎉🎉🎉
