So impressed that this car is in such great shape. It has been taken care of perfectly and you’re doing an absolutely beautiful job of refurbishing what’s damaged while keeping it mostly original. Thank you for sharing.

I just call it a trunk seal. I replaced it on my last one. Your front inner wells look great! That spare tire well is solid! Great video. Thanks for going over it all!

Thank you slade, I thought it was time to do a upgrade on what’s already done. Yeah I ordered new rails to put the rubber in. Hopefully not to much rust underneath the rail.

In english those are called rubber seals around the hood or bonnet in UK, around the front storage compartment.

It would be quite nice if you can save most of the original paint. It's only original once enjoy 🤙🇺🇸

Thank you for the comment. That’s the idea to keep more then 75% off the original paint.

Do you need to put a topcoat over the Brunox epoxy?
@VWBEETLEOVAL19552 жыл бұрын
Yes, after it’s dry. You have to put a topcoat directly over it. Normal paint or anti gravel, no problem at all.

Kraalrand is beaded edge in het engels. Wellicht kan je die plakken ipv lassen als je de zaak ontroest.

Hi sir and thnx for your comment. The most part I find on sites and fb and eBay. Also I buy the most pieces from BBT Belgium. Yeah I am from belgium, you can definitely hear it lol. But I do my best, it’s only difficult for the technical terms.

Does anyone know of an easy way to get rid of the glue they used inside of the front firewall (above the pedals and on the inside of the wheel wells) that does not dissolve the paint?
@VWBEETLEOVAL19552 жыл бұрын
have you tried baby oil? let that soak in for a 20-40 min and look if it comes off easily.
