I can attest as a Canadian that too many of us pretend to have some high and mighty attitude condemning US foreign policy but never admit how much American money and protection benefits us. Most Canadian officials seemingly share this attitude and don’t understand the dark realities of the world outside of our borders.

For years, I’ve felt that we’ve been freeloading - it’s dead wrong and beyond embarrassing🍁 I truly wish Canada would take more responsibility & finally pay - at least - the 2% of our GDP to NATO - something we agreed to do🌱

Canada has been known for good projects, we built a brain hospital a number of years ago, it was a good idea and then they built it. They integrated hospital care, then covid happened, The whole idea is that integration was supposed to reduce wait time etc, and instead of doing that, the system reversed itself after covid. The political will to get projects done is being stalled, due to the fact to upgrade education levels to meet the requirements, so that someone can run the machines, on and on it goes, so they will put people to work, but they have to eat. Stripping regulations isn’t the answer, they must allow regulations, not at the expense of being able to move forward is where they are at. Canada has been good at integrating different departments on the same page before. Instead of the 2% we provided equipment and education to countries that require it badly. It's in the interest of the world to help them.

Reliance on the generosity of the US and other paid-up NATO members will backfire on us🌱 Where are the Canadian politicians with integrity enough to highlight this issue ? I no longer see a credible federal party with backbone, worthy of my vote🍁

Senior members of the Canadian Navy are more concerned about carbon emissions than the fact our submarines can't operate under ice. I had this conversation personally. Buildings on all the Navy property in Halifax are falling to pieces, and there's little concern, and presumably budget, for their demolition and replacement. Asbestos remediation in existing buildings is done by the lowest bidder, poorly.
