Oh, and it's really mind blowing how nice people are in Spain and generally on the Camino. I got rides to town, free accomodation, meals, good tips and hints, everything from them. It's even better when you speak their language. And I always like to "pay forward" the good deeds with doing nice and good things for other people too. That's so much part of the Camino.

The reason we have the theme parks in the U.S. is the idea of bringing these places that you are visiting to the U.S. for people to experience. The backdrop of these theme parks is where you are now visiting. Keep up the great videos!

For some reason as a european I want you to like this so bad like Im responsible or something. Doesnt make sense I know, Im not even spanish. Maybe because I know the camino is very different from what ive seen in your videos in the us. Its similar to the way I feel when I have international friends stay with me here in amsterdam i just really want them to like my city... I just love your videos and its my dream to do one of the big trails in the US one day (preferably the pct)! Your vidoes were the first ones i watched and still cant get enough of them :)

When I went to Italy and Ireland a couple years ago we stayed in a bed a breakfast that had a sign on it that had been put on it I’m assuming judging by its age when it was built in like 625 CE. European culture built with rock and marble. Native Americans history was more of a cultural heritage than stone buildings, though have you been to Mesa verde or Montezuma’s castle or tuzingoot in the four corners region of AZ, NM, UT and CO? We have culture here but it has been more of a culture of the earth until the Industrial Age hit here in the 1700-1800s. I’m so glad you are having this experience with your sister. It’s great you have been able to immerse yourself there. Indeed the best part of travel are the people......there is natural beauty and good food too but when you take out the people from the equation it isn’t as amazing. Keep up your amazing adventures and sharing them with us when you feel inclined 😊

0:12 About the picturesque villages: You know what they say: In America 100 miles is nothing, and 100 years is a lot; in Europe, 100 years is nothing, and 100 miles is a lot. The feeling I get in the US is that the old historic centers are just not valued. You have some historic architecture as well. Different style of course, but historic by your standards all the same. But you tend to not do business there anymore, so things get shabby. 5:27 The green little guy: Probably an emerald lizard. They get about a foot long, and are common in southern Europe. 7:30 Re stop sign: They are standardized worldwide, I think. "stop" is understood in most any European language; even before we adopted the octagonal stop sign the equivalent in my home country Switzerland had the word "Stop" in it. 10:09 Camels walking: No it is not acceptable in any current European culture. But even more than different cultures, there are different turn-ons. They probably got a kick out of doing it in semi-public. It must have been pretty common in earlier times. Remember: individual rooms for sleeping are a pretty recent development. And I must compliment you on your photography of the small critters. You do a really good job of that.

Watching this since I'm gonna start walking the camino later this year (but I'm taking the Via Podiensis, the way of S:t James that starts in Le Puy, France). You're not posting like a reality show where all they do is party and drink. It's nice...and both of you are nice. We need more of that in the world. I hope to do the Camino one day. I'm 57yo...so trying to stay in shape. You're very pragmatic so all of your experience and comments are a big help to anyone pondering the Camino...or the other trails you've trod. Looking forward to more videos.

Hi Dixie. I definitely get what you mean about the buildings looking like a theme park structure. I come from the U.K. and I’m still in awe of the age and beauty of buildings in both this and other countries. I wonder if the people who built them knew how beautiful they would be hundreds of years later?🙂 And my new best line is ‘hitch in your giddy up”! Much better than ‘a limp’.

I'm happy for you two that you're having such a great time on your hike. I love watching your great vids and experience Europe from a new perspective that way. And just imagine, this is only a tiny part of the continent. There are still so many more and vastly different hikes waiting to be explored here, like in the Scottish highlands, the Irish coast walks, the Fjells of Sweden and Norway, the Alps stretching through France, Swizerland, Italy, Austria, Germany and Slovenia (almost forgot to mention Liechtenstein and Monaco since they are so small), mediterranean islands like Corsica and Mallorca or really wild areas like the Carpatian mountains in the east of Europe, to name just a few, each with a wholly different nature, climate, history and culture. Though I have to admit, wine fountains are unfortunately not a common thing - but neither are camels humping in monasteries. Pepper grinding night time lions much more so, and wine or beer often have something to do with that. I can recommend the soft earplugs by Ohropax (the pink ones) to counter that, you should be able to get them in most drugstores or pharmacies.

Since living in the US seldom do I get the time to enjoy the outdoors as much as I used to when I lived in Europe, even though I live in Oregon (weekends are never long enough). Your recent videos on the Camino bring back many memories for me, I hiked it almost 20 years ago. Always enjoy your positivity and humble attitude to life in how you express your experiences.
