After 5 days of rain and cold we were feeling it. Days 5 and 6 brought more cold but great views of the desert and our first look at Mt. San Jacinto. We found a place to stay in Mt Laguna after seeing and responding to an announcement on a tree the marveled in the snow that fell on us. Progress was made and the warm provisions and great food in Mt Laguna just under 6000 feet perked up our mood. Thanks to Neener for the space x video. I was crawling in my tent and freezing and didn’t get great video for that. Stay tuned for the cactus pinching incident tomorrow.

I really enjoy the Mt Laguna area. In the summer, hiking up to Garnet Peak to watch the sunrise is awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your travels. I'm local here in SD, so if you need help getting your puffy back, just reach out.

So far enjoying your videos. I forget if you mentioned where you're from but you certainly know the plants and trees. Me, I've been in many pine forests and unless they are dramatically different, I can't tell the difference. 🤣 And yes, there IS A LOT of snow on Mt. San Jacinto. Will be interesting what the conditions are by the time you get there. Some hikers ahead of you tried it but eventually bailed and skipped to Big Bear. They are, oh, maybe as much as 2 weeks ahead of you. Anyway, they are out of the snow and heading into the Cajon Pass. Good luck.

Very interesting about the moss. Brings back great memories! My late father used to take me on nature walks frequently and carry around those little books about trees, birds, moss and flowers. I enjoyed those times with him.
