I have those too and they’re just about ok for me, nowhere near for hubby’s but the Danish one I have is double ended L and XL. I think part of the problem I’m finding is that Opal yarn doesn’t seem to have much bounce or memory. West Yorkshire Spinners sock always fits nice and on the blocker and springs back really well. Still learning! 😃

There is no pattern, it's just a standard Granny Square with 20 rounds. I did turn them on their points thought which does add a different look.

There are tutorials out there. You just have to remember to do 4 trebles on the straight edge part so it stays straight and you can use the gap between the first and the other three trebles for the next row.

It’s the Attic24 Cosy Stripe pattern. Paula from Stitched by Mrs D made one some time back and I liked the striping with white between she did.
