Hi David. Like your video. I am also 51, father of three. My daughters are much older than yours,23 and 21. I also have a 14 years old son. Wondering how old is Ivy? I went to the UK with one of my daughters back in September 2022, stay for a week, we visited London, Bath, Stonehenge, and the Windsor castle. Our whole family of five visited Samui during Covid, nearly had the whole resort to ourselves. If you love sunset, the best place in Thailand is in Phuket, cape Phrom Thep. แหลมพรหมเทพ

Hi, firstly nice family. Just one thing I am stopping in Bophut in dec fisherman’s village and want to see around a bit. Can the tell me did you negotiate the price first And how much where the drivers charging. On songthaews

Hey! I will do more videos… the songthaews were about 400 baht per trip: sometimes cheaper, sometimes more but it averages about 400. It can build up in a day if you visit two or three places. That was one thing that saddened me about Koh Samui… it’s quite expensive to travel if you don’t use a scooter or car. When you see a songthaews they beep their horn as they drive and pull over and negotiate a fee. Koh Samui is a little bit bigger than I expected so I’d barter a price and then feel guilty when I realised how far I had been driven so I’d end up giving them a nice tip which defeated the point of negotiating 😀
