I'll never stop chuckling to myself about how semantically similiar 'personal responsibility', as defined by noteworthy anti-communist Jordan Peterson, is to 'self-reliance' AKA, Juche, the state religion of North Korea. I practice self-reliance too, but like, in practice this means you just immediately see how stupid money is. That seems to be the big mistake most leftists make, they still think money is a real currency. It's not. Your social network is the only real currency these days, and however many tins of sardines you can fit in your larder. Self-reliance, with this mindset, means you work toward the integration and betterment of your immediate communities. The most efficient way, I've found, is to publicly mock people for driving cars. One of my favourite bits of performance art I do is I'll go to a busy street in a busy part of the day and just pace up and down the cars, holding up a hand and putting a finger up every time I do a full pass of all the people stuck in traffic.
@timothybell56983 жыл бұрын
From Psychiatrist David Puder, host of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy podcast (paraphrasing). "I was dealing with a domestic abuse client, a man who had hit his wife. Really beaten her. He tried to say he couldn't help himself, he lost control, that he didn't have free will. So I asked 'Then why didn't you kill her?'" Now, to a philosopher, this seems like a non-sequitor, but to a big-dicked philosopher like me who also studied semiotics, semantic nodes, neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy of religion, it makes total sense. It's just a semantic node associated with moral reasoning, it's an illusion, but so is literally every thought.

He's so based. Determinism and free will are not necessarily contradictory. I too believe that everything is deterministic and exclusively dependant of the material conditions, the laws of physics and ones trajectory. Yet at the same time within that unchangeable fate there is a choice, one choice at a time that we always make and always will make. The choice is made by us, but there's always only one available choice. That choice is whatever physics and determinism has set up your brain as a physically possible option for you to think or for you to do, anything else would be breaking the laws of physics.

Well, this was... interesting. Well, it's safe to say that Jreg failed on not having a status quo, because by changing status quo to not have a status quo he created his own status quo of changing status quo. It's a never ending cycle that leads to predictability and henceforth the status quo, even if it's the one followed by the majority.
