I played this game on release back on the Xbox 360. Over a decade later, I downloaded the trilogy via PS Plus and decided to play them in order (never played Darksiders 3, so looking forward to that). I knew there was something wrong about the first game. Couldn’t quite remember what… and then I got to the Black Throne. I understand they wanted to emulate God of War with some Zelda peppered in for innovation, but whoever thought introducing Portal in this area is hopefully not in charge of level design for the other two entries. That being said, thank you for this guide. I was ready to uninstall this game and jump to the second, but will give it another chance

3:18 this is the first time you have to use the Abyssal Chain to get a bomb and the game gave you no hint that you can use it this way. I literally blew that crystal by using the bomb in the main Azrael area and throwing it through a portal you can see rotating. And it worked.

Thank you for this walkthrough. I am playing this on Switch now and hate hate hate this level so much. At 2:00 you already showed me how to figure out this portal puzzle that I have been stuck on for a long time. I couldn't see that hallway down through the portal no matter how hard I tried!! Utterly frustrating, but now just trying to get through the game since I must be getting close to the end (hopefully).

Jesus christ this game dropped off a cliff. I was enjoying this a lot until the Ashlands. That's when things began to get tedious and boring. But then..The Black Throne. My fucking god. They went way, WAYYYY overboard with these goddamn portal puzzles. They are so tedious and annoying. But the worst part is how many there are. Why did they feel the need to create 1 to 3 portal puzzles for literally every single room?? It's like they ran out of ideas and steam when they started on The Ashlands and just decided to replace good ideas with never ending combat. Then someone came up with the Voidwalker Puzzles and they went "Yes! This. Do this! The Puzzles, ALL the puzzles!" The entire rest of the game will be non stop Voidwalker puzzles!!" I spent as much time on this stupid last stage as I did on nearly the first half of the entire game. The Black Throne is one of the worst levels in any game ever.

All I can say is holy shit!l!! I've always wanted to finish this game I didn't get a chance to on my PS3 I'm on my PS4 now and I had trouble getting past the first boss back then plus a new game came out probably red Dead redemption or something way back then and I just said hell with it but now I'm determined to beat this game! on this video... The fight before we started heading back I almost had to just give up because I haven't watched you throughout this whole game I tried not to if I don't have to on games, but I've watched the last two videos and will watch the next, and I'm short probably three or four skulls more than you and a whole lot more wrath!I only have three yellow bars at the bottom and six skulls at the top! And I still found a way to barely beat those bastardsI hope we get a chance to meet the merchant again because I want to use some of my souls up to get some stuff & hope the ending isn't as bad as those fights were but without this video.... There isn't really any loot, just shards (collectables) and voice recordings. It does have an addictive power-up system, and you feel more and more powerful after every upgrade. It is still one of the best Superhero games out there. Engaging story and world, and a great protagonist (or anti-hero if you will) make a great, enjoyable game. No game is without its problems, but the first playthough is worth every penny, especially at the $20 price tag.

Just start the game after bought ds 1 23 on steam for 5$ total. I knew ds 1 is puzzle alot game but i though it wasnt after first 1 hrs. Then the nightmare come. The puzzle come hard and harder, it from action game with bonus puzzle game to the puzzle game with alittle action
