The car is a disaster. But worth saving. It would take a lot.

Enzo Ferrari said the XKE was the most beautiful car ever made. I agree. Would love to own one in any condition.

If he decides to sell, I'll let you know. I know that quote well. They are beautiful.

I have my hands full right now with two derelict 944’s base models. Can’t decide which one is the parts car!😏

Russ, Never mind. The transaxle I sent you is coded 5R which is the 944 turbo with LSD and Oil Cooler. Jeff

Russ, what is the code on the S transaxle? If not a turbo s transaxle(code AOR), I will need to get a new ring and pinion set(oops!)

What is the trick to putting in the input shaft seal?? the one on the very front of the transmission behind the coupler, I replaced mine awhile back , used a piece of pvc and the darn thing still leaks, I greased it to holp it go in ans put plastic wrap around the splines of the shaft so as not to tear it, kind of a pain to redo, but, will persevere!!

Actually, pvc is a good way to go. The seal should be packed with grease to prevent the spring from coming off the lip seal. It's possible the shaft has a ring from the old seal. Or there is a burr on the shaft from removing the old seal.
