Episode 5 of the RUMO series: Oil and Gas sectors and Shipyard sector in Foz do Rio Itajaí-Açu

This is Episode 5 of the RUMO series: An Audiovisual Diagnosis of Foz do Rio Itajaí-Açu, produced in the first phase of the RUMO Project, carried out from 2020 to 2023. The RUMO Project team visited the municipalities of Itajaí, Navegantes, Balneário Camboriú and Penha , interviewing people, recording images of activities carried out in the territory and the sectors that operate in Foz.
In this episode, you will learn more about the Oil and Gas sectors, understand how it works and what the relationship is with the Foz do Rio Itajaí-Açu. We will also show the Shipyard sector and how they are important and have expanded in the region for repairs and construction of vessels in Foz. We spoke to workers from both sectors, who talk about their activities and what it is like to live in Foz.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The RUMO Project is a mitigation measure required by Federal Environmental Licensing, conducted by IBAMA, for the production of oil from the Baúna Field, located in the Santos Basin, under the responsibility of the Australian company Karoon Energy.
