Episode 5: Vacation Contention

Before marriage, I used to travel as a single girl. My husband frowned against it after marriage because he felt we should save money as newly weds, as we wanted to start a family. It's been 12yrs and he still doesn't believe in vacation to places where we don't have family members. I am trying to convince him it is perfectly normal to go to exotic destinations without knowing anyone.
I think i have achieved a bit of shift in his mindset.

I love this family. Funny conversations. I like it. Nothing forced, just authentic. Typical Nigerian love. Brown is a typical loving career man, his goal is his family and church. Romance to him is in protecting and providing for his family. Morayo should work a conference or fair journey for him. He is open to traveling but as a career person and protector, his motivation is to maximize that money. Moray should plan a vacation around his career (business) prospect so you have vacation and fair or conference.

Morayo STOP right there now, I remember like it happened today, when your view’s ladies went on a boat cruise organize by Lagos State tourism, you invited couples to pay and come and enjoy their valentine, Morayo told us that Mr Brown refuse to join and promise to pray for success of that cruise and Brown kept calling you until the boat landed back safely, and Mr Brown heaved a sign of relief that you guys landed safely, so Mr Brown will not follow you for exotic vacation where he could be kidnap.

Loving Mr Brown, always grounded, but I agree with Morayo. It's about finding the middle ground. Why not go on a trip which furthers Mr Brown's business and also a romantic holiday for Morayo. You know there is no direct flight from Nigeria to most places, so your stopover destination to change flights could be either for biz or leisure. Just a tip--- do the biz part of your trip first and get serious things out of the way, then do leisure. As a family and couple, you do have to create a secure future and also create pleasurable memories; neither just happens without intention. Traveling opens up your mind. I know people who were adverse to traveling but when they eventually opened up to traveling, they became worse than people who have been traveling for years. Holiday ti awon oyinbo n se every year ti won o l'owo dani. I live amongst them. They will save for 12 months and spend it in 2 wks. Ko make sense sometimes. If you have excess money, yes.
