This is without a doubt 1 of the best interviews on the network. Now I understand when people talk about propaganda and PR. The media has given Gayton a certain narrative and only after this interview do I realise that this man I genuine and not apologetic with what he believes in. Now I understand why the EFF is big on the socials but get very few votes on the ballot(PR). Just by this interview I really need to reconsider who I want to vote for. The dude is streetwise for sure. But trying to copy paste Apartheid model saying bring back the Christian God in the schools does not make sense. He went to those schools with God under apartheid and still ended up in jail. Comparing the success of Apartheid which looked after a handful of white people and a few colored Indians, is not fair when the ANC has to take care of millions. YES, whites had grants free housing, and schooling too. Let's not forget that Apartheid had financial assistance from the USA, what about kidnapping black kids and trading them for oil with the Saudis? Not to mention that he flip flops too, because when he speaks to colored masses he is a colourdist.

What is the alternative outside of democracy? Even China has democracy within the Communist party, they have a qualified franchise. Strong men politics always ends badly even in so called benevolent dictatorships. What happens when he goes rogue & inevitably starts abusing his position? Evenyone around him will be his appointees. The man doesn’t even have a democratic process in his party. It’s his fiefdom… he selects who gets what position from deputy president down. If he becomes president of the country, he wants to replicate the same model. No consultation, it’s his word and no one else’s. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. State capture abuse revealed by Zondo Commission will be child’s play. To cure African democracy deficiency you need a qualified franchise. People who vote need to be qualified and so are people running for office. It can’t be just because you turn 18 you are now allowed to vote. You need to have knowledge of your obligations as a citizen and also have some education (not 30%) to be able to critique issues. National service will be helpful here as long as it’s not high jacked by a political party and it ends up being a partisan program.
