Because at home, while trying to “relax” you’re thinking of what tomorrow will bring. Did the kids fill their water bottle for school? Did I switch out the laundry? What should I cook for dinner? But on vacay….YOLO! Plus on vacation, your work is not bothering you with questions because they know you’re TRYING to relax!

Renae, sounds like you could have had a worry-free bucket list great birthday had you gone with your friends who wouldn't shit on your experience. So sorry. And Steve, if you're going to praise certain things that you got to experience with her, then leave it at that. Stop with the "however" and the "but" cause you cancel out any good you say about making her happy. You absolutely are saying you didn't enjoy it. Maybe not at the moment, but after the fact. Steve, your nit-picking of the birthday experience wasn't necessary. Just let it be and focus on the positive. You said she could do whatever she wanted. This sounded like a post birthday attack of the choices that you told her she could have. Tonight is the first time I've seen your comedy shows, then the podcast. I love your comedy. You do, very often, say how much you do things for her but think about this: it ruins her experience in a way knowing that in the future when you ask her what she wants to do together and she tells you, she's going to be hesitant because she knows you're going to be critical. Put the shoe on the other foot if she went hunting or fishing with you then later complained about the whole experience but she 'did it for you' even though she didn't want to do it and would've rather been doing something else. I've made two separate posts here and I like you both even though I don't know you. I'm way older than you two, and yes I'm going to say it - do your best to focus on the positive as much as you can. Renae, it's ok to stop and give Steve some one on one time throughout the day for a few minutes. Unless there's a fire or an emergency, nothing is so important that you can't have a few cuddly moments together. I'm glad you agreed to spend time at night in the hot tub outside. I wish the best for you two nice people! 😊 Tia
