You are so resourceful and creative! Amazing build. You put a lot of thought into everything you did. Rock climbing things to the roof is so ingenious.

I watched many videos on conversions of retired ambulances. This video is by far the easiest and most economical way to convert an ambulance to a useful camper for the road. I just got my retired 1990 Ford f350 4x4 ambulance that was used by a swat team in a county police department since new. I didn't have to worry about cleaning it from the inside since it was not used to transport people to hospitals. All electrical in working order and it only has 18k original miles on a 7.3L V8. This conversion made me feel at ease, to be honest with you. So thank you for sharing it and hope you have more to come. I will be posting new videos very before and after very soon.

Great Job, you don't need to re invent the wheel when doing an RV conversion on an ambo. Repurpose, reuse and personalize......awesome, thanks for sharing.

Exactly. I looked at an ambulance yesterday. I think they're better than any RV I've seen. I like the industrial/modern look. They quality is better than any RV I've seen and the storage layout can't be beat.

Hi ! Thank you sooooo much for sharing your rig with us, I just love it ! I was considering an extended cargo van for a camper conversion but always felt concerned that maybe too much of a downsize from a 40 foot bus conversion but an ambulance looks like a better platform instead, roomy, wired, insulated ... hmmm, strong contender now. Thank you again ! Cheers from Canada ! Janis.

Dude doesn't know how to square dance, but he's hilarious. Thanks for the info. I looked at an ambulance yesterday. The quality is better than any RV I've seen and the storage cannot be beat. I think this is the route I will go. I'd work with the modern/industrial aspects. That's my style.

My only concern that I have to keep in mind is that my rig was built for the US military and its all military-grade 24volt system. So that's going to be a challenge adding utilities inside. I believe I can use the wall outlets for that but have to run it by a mechanic before using them to make sure the outlets can support 12-volt electronics.

Just watched your number 6 episode and was impressed. I'll be trying to watch the rest later this evening. I've just picked up a 1995 E 350 with a 7.3 L power stroke turbo diesel 4x4 and I'll be working on this puppy for quite awhile. My questions are have you changed over your lighting to LED, and where have you found the bulbs. Have you changed the carpet in your cab and how hard was that. I should probably watch your other episodes before I ask any more questions. With that said, I'll get back with you later. Good videos.

You can buy LED bulbs of every shape from LED Wholesalers located in Hayward, CA just south of Oakland. I found them on Amazon. Call them and ask for your type or visit their website. You will need to pay close attention to the base of your bulbs and get the same. Base corresponds to the socket installed. If not the same or too pricey or hard to get, then change the sockets to the socket base of your choice. Also pay attention the lumens which is brightness of the bulb. More lumens means more watts, and vice versa. Finally, the Kelvin rating of your bulb is important. 5K - 6K rating means bluish light. 3K - 4K means bright white. 2700 - 3000 Kelvin rating means soft white like an incandescent bulb. I like a 3000 K rating, its perfect. 4K is a bit too bright. All bulb kelvin ratings in one space should match. Socket can be single bayonet mount, double bayonet mount, wedge mount, dual pin mount, etc. Cab area is best with a rubber mat not carpet. It gets the most foot traffic. Use a bath mat over the rubber flooring in cab and you now have an easily washable solution. You will have to remove the chairs. Start with passenger side so you can still drive it if you have to get to store for parts.

@@Stolp_Solutions have you heard about the medium duty size? I'm still researching about the best maintenance and best mpg, the medium duty usually is 6 cylinders and a bigger engine but I'm still figuring out which one fits better in this condition that I'm looking

Honestly, the 7.3 powerstroke is the best motor ever put into an ambulance. The great reliability is worth the poor mpg.

Seventh Seal it was all easy to do and if you do a personal vehicle with only liability insurance, it is very very cheap as well. $35 a month with geico. Just say “personal vehicle” every time they ask a question haha.
@williamwallace81645 жыл бұрын
@@Stolp_Solutions I get the idea of insuring under the category of a "personal vehicle" and only having liability insurance. However, are you insured against collisions from others? Are you insured for environmental damage (weather, wild animals..etc)? Are you insured against fire? I would think if you are making these vehicles your primary home, I would think having full, adequate insurance to cover ANYTHING that can go wrong. This is just my opinion, of course!
