After a long summer vacation, and some time consuming frame building, I finally got to the point, where the frames could be raised - one of kind of boat is taking shape

Great work - I bought the same plans a couple of months ago and just waiting to have the frames ‘nested’ onto a sheet, so I can adopt your approach by glueing direct onto the ply sheets. Fantastic to see your progress - your videos are really helpful and looking forward to Ep 7. Real inspiration- thank you!

Have been watching with interest your videos. Look forward to the next chapter. What are you doing to ensure accuracy as you set those ribs? Will these be aligned when you put your spine in?

Hi Mark, Thanks for commenting. Frame distancing is more than just one measure; there are numerous; first, having the keel in place, i have the horizontal frame distance under control; then followed by the perpendicular alignment to the center line. When making and clamping the strips for; primarily the Sheer Line, everything will be more stabilized, so basically it´s a step by step approach or iterative process if you like. Thank you for for you interest. Stay tuned and please share.

Are the frames mounted on the same side of the station lines down the setup jig, usually this changes in front of and behind maximum beam to account for frame bevels? Really like the design and the work so far, did the plans indicate plywood for the frames or was that your decision, if so what thickness did you choose.

In this case, the Changeover Point is at station 8, so the Control Edge for frame 1-7 will be positioned on the station line, leaving frame material towards the stern allowing for fairing. The opposite is the case for the frames 9-17 and towards the transom. Using Marine Plywood was my decision and I opted for 18mm. When primed and painted they ended up being close to 19 mm thickness - as per specifications.

Hi . My name is Alan Schnider. I live and work in Gordon’s Bay South Africa. I am also busy building a Riva Aquarama. I started last year . At this time I have built a mobile jig, keel, two engine bearers, rudders, rudder tubes, tillers, fuel filler deck fittings, exhaust outlets. I am in the process of commissioning a CNC multicam . Once up and running I will start the frames. I think there is a great deal we can collaborate on . Let me know your thoughts . Best regards Alan

Hi, I am Nasser from Kuwait. Thank you for sharing your work with us, I build 3 boats so far and I bought the planes of the same boat you are building now. I intend to build a plug and the mahogany boat itself, I have already started building the plug and soon I will start building the boat. If I may ask you how to transfer PDF files to CAD in order to use CNC machine? Good luck and wish you following sea.

Hi Nasser, - thank you for commenting. I used the IMPORT command in AutoCad and that worked fine for me.

To use a CAD file in a CNC, I believe you need to convert it to a step-file

How do you know what height to set the frames to? Thank you for sharing, this is something I'd love to build one day
@rivaaquaramatribute-myboat73712 жыл бұрын
Hi Connor, Frame hight is per specification given in the drawings I received when I purchased the set of building plans. I though verified all measurements my selves, when I did 3-D modelling of the frame set up

@rivaaquaramatribute-myboat73712 жыл бұрын
Hej Jesper, Tak for din kommentar.

@rivaaquaramatribute-myboat73712 жыл бұрын
@@jesper2165 Spanten måler 2,4 og når sheer line og beklædning er på lander jeg på godt 2,5m men ikke over 2,6
