As a relatively new knitter (just over a year of experience) I am skill building. 2025 will continue to be a year of education. I am working on my first colorwork project, a hat. I will make at least one more colorwork hat and begin my first colorwork sweater. I love knitting socks and will continue on with that, building skills there too. Thank you this episode 😊

Good to see you, Candi 😊 I cast on my 1st object this year - the Field Shawl (pattern by Maxim Cyr) - today. A gift. I have a number of gift knits to make by April so it's good to get started. I look forward to seeing your steeking and colorwork experiences: those are two things I want to do this year as well. You can DEFINITELY achieve your 12 pairs of socks goal! Aim for a pair a month and if you finish "just" six or seven, that's still great! And don't forget: you can hold the sock yarn together or pair one strand with a silk mohair to make DK weight socks which truly does make the process go by more quickly. I never travel with my entire interchangeable set. I take the needles required for the WIP(s) and leave the others at home. I love that you're buying clothes that coordinate with your knits 😀 Good luck keeping the excitement alive! P.S. Technically my 1st cast on was a 2nd sock, on Jan 1😊 But the Field is a totally new project...so more exciting 😄

@noelleparris9451 the field shawl sounds nice, I've always liked Maxim's aesthetic. Dk socks have always given me pause because I'm nervous they'd be too thick and uncomfortable in socks, but I suppose I won't know until I try.

@CandiB.Knittin DK socks are great for wearing around the house or in boots. Hope you try them 🙂
