Join us for a webinar featuring Dr. Bilal Chughtai on iTIND for the Minimally Invasive Treatment of BPH.
iTIND, or Temporary Implantable Nitinol Device, is a cutting-edge and minimally invasive treatment option for managing Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a common condition in aging men characterized by the enlargement of the prostate gland. Unlike traditional surgical procedures like transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) or open surgery, iTIND offers a gentler and less invasive approach to alleviate BPH symptoms.
The iTIND device consists of a series of interlocking nitinol (nickel-titanium alloy) coils that are implanted within the prostatic urethra. Once in place, iTIND gently compresses the prostate tissue, relieving the urinary obstruction and discomfort associated with BPH. What makes iTIND particularly appealing is its temporary nature; it can be removed after a few days, allowing patients to return to their normal activities quickly. This minimally invasive solution offers significant benefits, including reduced risk of complications, shorter recovery times, and improved quality of life for individuals suffering from BPH. As medical technology continues to advance, iTIND stands out as an innovative and patient-friendly option for BPH management.

Thankyou for the very clear explanation, graphics and excellent questions. Is the procedure OK for early localised prostate cancer?

What keeps the prostate from going back to its original shape ? And how much does it cost?

I don't have cost for procedures. FYI all prostate continue to grow after any therapy. The pressure from the iTind creates grooves in the prostate which remain when the ddevice is removed. *The expert's opinions in this communication are personal and not representative of any organization. Glad I found your video. I just got turned down by my Medicare insurance for not enough data and that it’s experimental. They said I can appeal it. It’s almost like a procedural game they have to play. I really was wanting this iTEND procedure. I may have to pay for it myself even if I have to get a loan. Thanks for this info.

I recommend you discuss other minimally invasive treatments for your prostate, with your urologist, that may be covered by your insurance.

@@uronurse1 I did that. Now we are going for the Aquablation procedure. There is pros and cons for sure but I trust my doc.

One thing that is unclear-- when referring to "post-op catheter" such as with Rezume, does that mean, "post-op for the rest of your life" or "post-op for some recovery period"? And if the latter, how long is that period likely to be?

The catheter is worn for a few days post procedure. This time varies based on the urologist protocols.
