Rhodochrosite reminds me of bacon. I recently have been working with it. It's amazing to me that while this gemstone is famous for it's pink/whitish opague colors, that it also can be translucent and still have the same properties as the opague. Beautiful stone, Paul!

Ah, I have missed my lessons for a few weeks. Thank you so much for all you teach me. I've returned recently from my daughter's home in Oahu, HI. Some of my most precious gemstones are there - 7 grandchildren. However, also, I did get to see my daughter's turquoise earrings. They are very beautiful. It was a treat to view a gem after watching your video Turquoise 101.

Thanks, Tommy. Great to hear from you again. I had some successful meetings in Atlanta yesterday (August 2nd) and my second round of meetings in New York today (August 3rd). I can say that there will be some very high-end jewelry available for purchase in early to mid-September (more details to follow shortly). The loose gem aspect will take a little more work to complete. Most shopping channels shy away from the loose gems because the average shopper can’t envision what to do with the loose gems. Most would rather see it in a setting. But I am working on it!

Hey Paul another good one! Do you know if there is a name for the group of gem stones that are formed like opal, or turquoise?
