Selma is a great tester because she notices her lapses and talks about them and doesn't fear them and knows how to fix them...and she appreciates the beauty of knits.....and always upgrades a design with her own talent! That's my opinion here in my house in Lisbon. I know what I am talking about because I follow her for a long time. She makes everyone happier and shes very generous. So, I send her my love and hope she gets many blessings from the sky!

Hi Selma - that’s a very interesting comparison between the ‘Kestrel’ & Lang Yarns ‘Lino’ ..... Kestrel is one of my favourite Yarns so keen to try the ‘Lino’- Lang Yarns have lots of great patterns for the Lino on their website. I have recently been gifted some Adriafil ‘Totalino’ which was purchased in Rome - it’s also a chain linen but is much finer than Kestrel. It will be interesting to see how the Totalino compares with the Lino too?? I live in Australia so have to purchase these on line. Thanks for your Podcast!!

Hi Selma I made the Elorie and Ranunculus with Kestral and feel the same... its very heavy. So nice to see you again! Regarding your Elorie, I feel the same about my Ranunculus I knit with Quince and Co Kestral. The weather is never right for me to wear it. It's 3/4 sleeves, so I'd hate to just make the sleeves short. I am going to have to think on what I want to make, I am not afraid to frog, I also feel my Ranunculus is too big. I actually have an extra skein left over, and am thinking maybe a tunic or something, just to use up the yarn. I'd love to know other ideas. Regarding the Nutiden yarn, it's best to carefully unwind from the plate into several smaller balls, about 3 inches in diameter. I then sit a ball in any ceramic bowl and it easily unwinds as I knit with it. Splicing is so easy, I know some people only overlap an inch or two close to their knitting, and hardly felt it. It just grabs to itself so easily.
@littlebigknits2 жыл бұрын
Good idea te the nutiden!! The deschaine seems to be a good one for the kestral. You are the second person to say the kestrel is too heavy for the ranunculus even.

Hei - I love the new yarn from Akara Yarns - I just finished a top for my sister out of one of her yarns - the Linbo tee by Meiju K-P. I liked it so much that I’m going to make one for myself but out of Sonder yarn. It might be a knit that you would like. I just started a new test knit for Meiju. I always say that I’m gonna take a break from testing, and then I always start another one. 😁 I had thought about going to the Twist Festival, but I am going to the PEI Fibre Festival instead. After two years of lockdowns and Covid, I feel the need to travel. It sounds like it’s going to be a blast! I’m hoping to get to Ottawa at some point this fall! Well, if it helps at all, I think the Elorie is very flattering on you and the colour especially so. Goes very well with your skin tone and hair. But, I also understand frogging if you have to - that feeling that we might not wear something can be irritating, and it sometimes is best to just repurpose the item.
