I would have been star struck by meeting Tracie and Jodi in a store too, not to mention all of the others. How lovely to get to be in amongst all the other knitwear. Safe travels home.

Happy to have found you two. I really enjoy your channel. Your knitting is beautiful and inspiring. And you remind me of another couple I watch, but they do Cross stitch. Thank you both for sharing ❤

For your LBA mohair, I recommend the Elton Pullover from Joji Locatelli. You just need a lace weight yarn to hold with it for the opaque stripes. It’s a gorgeous pattern and really shows off the mohair.

I missed seeing you on the hill. I saw the large grouping of folks on the hill for the photo shoot, but it’s like finding a needle in the haystack when you try to find someone in the sea of Framed sweaters. I’m happy you both experienced Rhinebeck magic with the beautiful weather we had this weekend. Cheers and wishing you safe travel back home.

Sad that we missed each other. Next time maybe we can have an organised meet up, that would be fun! (Don’t tell Stephen, but I’m already making plans in my head for next year haha!) -Bebe

Hi I'm really enjoying listening to your chat about knitting and hearing about your travels to the various yarn festivals. You mention a desire to go to the Scandinavian countries - I strongly recommend going to Copenhagen for several days. It is such a lovely, people-friendly city that is so easy to get around. There are so many yarn shops to explore , not all in the centre of the city, but in close suburbs that are easily accessible by bus or the great Metro system. If you would like a list of the ones I recommend I'd be happy to let you know. Otherwise, there are several podcasts on KZbin by young knitters going to CPH just to do a 'yarn crawl' which will give you so much information. I think the city is the Mecca for knitting. And, bonus, if you spend more than 300DK (about $70 NZD) in the one store AND you ask the shop owner to fill in the right forms, you can get some of the GST back at the airport :). Enjoy.

Wonderful to hear all about your trip up to here - knitters certainly are wonderful people, I travel alone now since my husband passed and I find if I sit down with my knitting at an airport or coffee shop someone will come and have a chat and it is really lovely. Have a safe trip home and look forward to watching your next podcast 🌸

Most excellent travelogue guys, Rhinebeck lived up to the hype 💫 beautiful scenery, the fairgrounds - artichokes French… in 2012 my knitspo Stephen West was wearing his knitted shorts 🫶🏻 I did the same super groupie inane chatter, he was incredibly witty, self deprecating and v v v tall irl.

So enjoyed hearing about your knitting and adventures. I've knit the Ilha and think all of Orlane Sucche's patterns fit so well. I'll be interested to know if you think so also. Gorgeous Briodag glove--MUST teach my husband to knit 😊 Hope the trip home was easy and you are again enjoying beautiful Christchurch. Thanks for just another lovely knitting podcast.

I'm going to do a "running commentary" so I don't forget to comment on certain things. 1. CreaBea loves the type of design where you start by knitting the back, then picking up stitches on either side to start the fronts. I've never knitted that style before but Doocote and Crea Bea's patterns are on my todo list. 2. BFL is one of the long wools, so it has lots of luster. I believe it tends to be a bit like merino in softness? Masham would I imagine be a more rustic yarn. It seems a very common breed to throw in to provide more oomph to a yarn. I'm not super knowledgeable, but that's what I have gathered. Also just have to say -- love the town of Rhinebeck! It has antique shops, nice restaurants, cute other shops, -- it's wonderful! Lucky you to stay at that inn -- I've always wondered about it. I will admit -- I didn't go to Rhinebeck. I tend to take for granted that it's right there. I've been various times through the years. Hope you had fun! (I'm a big fan girl as well, so I don't blame you for flipping out over the Grocery Girls. Lucky you!). Safe trip to the next destination -- home? Take care.

Wow thank you for the comments! I am keen to try Rebecca’s Stick Season as it has the shaped back rather than short rows - maybe a “stick-less” one. Great info about the BFL and Masham, thank you. And I loved Rhinebeck and the whole area in general. I will be back for sure! -Bebe

I am a big fan of the Sophie Shawl too. I have made two so far. It's a great travel project and if you only have a certain amount of yarn you can knit until you use half of it, then start the decreases, which is what I did with the second one. Hopefully you got to wear some of your knitwear at Rhinebeck this weekend. It was coldin the mornings and evenings. I had a question about using the elastic. How do you secure the ends? Do you tie them in a knit, or weave them in? Do they stay woven in? I want to use it too but am not sure how to keep the ends secure. Love your podcast. You guys are so genuine. I tell all my friends to start following you. Keep on doing what you do, it is appreciated.
