As a South African I will always love and respect Tich Mataz . The man was and is still a beast behind the mic , I listened to him at 5FM and watched Woza Weekend with the late Bra Fats . This man changed the landscape of radio and was and still an inspiration to many . Tich laid the foundation . Much respect to him .

Point of correction, Nelson Mandela was released o'n 11 Feb 1990, so Tich can't say he was *On Air* in SA unless he meant Inauguration in 1994.

The best there can ever be. I am reminded of the days back in the early 90s. Tich was the magnet on radio Bop at Mmabatho (Santa Barbara) as it was known. Tich is speaking the truth, we need to start to showcase movies and content on our heroes in Zim, i mean pour money into building proper production companies coz just the Mutapa story told with a good quality and given a proper production budget will bring in millions or even billions through sales and even boost tourism. It aint all about mining and farming but proper content can rack in proper money. This man is full of wisdom

DJ played a Yvonne Chaka Chaka song and the DJ was commenting remembering how they used to listen to "legendary" DJ Tich Mataz back then on South African Radio. He went on and on about Tich Mataz, for sure this guy in term in broadcasting is legendary. Soon after they played an Oliver Mtukudzi song, " pakupingudza mombe ndakuvara". Legends out there😊😊😊

Nothing but love and respect for Tich. He was actually very close with my late brother Aldrin Segale Mogotsi. I can recall when he came through to Mafikeng back in 1991. Tich is one of the people that really consolidated my love for radio and I have always looked up to him and still do.
