Brilliant job Barnesy, can't believe how well the seats came out. I was a bit skeptical at first, but you did an awesome job. Well done again on having a go at fixing things yourself and saving heaps of money!!!
@BarnesysBuilds

Yes I was sceptical as well! It's really only an interim measure to get the build over the line and I will sort them properly at a later stage.

Another awesome vid mate. Your channel is unique as you try and fix a lot yourself which is great to see. I need to restore a old fuel tank and watching you videos gets me motivated to give it a crack
@BarnesysBuilds
@BarnesysBuilds 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I give it a crack at least, yeah the fuel tank is an interesting challenge project. Just make sure you drain all the excess out so it doesn't gas out and delaminate. Very important so you don't have to redo. Just a thin layer will do. Cheers!

I used a por15 kit on an old tractor tank. Follow the directions to the letter. I was very happy with the result.

That was very impressive repair work. I’ve often wondered if those vinyl repair kits really work. Really getting excited to see this war horse run. Please don’t tell me they’re exposing you guys to Yellow Stone in the Land Down Under??? I live about 2 hours north of the 6666 Ranch. Nice facilities but I suppose the example HollyWierd portrays is as close to reality as Quigley Down Under is for Australia. You guys have fun and keep up the craftsmanship. It’s great. Also that footage of the country there is pure gold.
@BarnesysBuilds
@BarnesysBuilds 2 жыл бұрын
Ha, yes we sure do get Yellowstone, everyone loves it over here, I figured it was mostly bullshit but still enjoyable to watch. Love that country out there. 6666 ranch is a monster, weird layout though, all over the place. Yeah the footage was just testing out Auto track on a drone, worked alright in the end. Cheers mate👍

Hi, I bought skins for HZ seats from One Stop Trim Supplies on EBay $850 delivered for a pair. Fitting was tricky but if you keep one seat in tact for reference it's not that hard. They do door trims too, but not sure if the do WB stuff.
@BarnesysBuilds

Hey mate go see Adrian at Dantrim in east Bendigo if you get stuck. Tell him you know moose from mint signs. He’s done heaps of bench seats and old school stuff. Cheers! Coming along well. Just promise after all this work that those seats are temporary!

Hey mate, yeah ok I will have a chat, I need to get all the other stuff still anyway, yeah the skins were always going to get re-done but the seat style is wb Kingswood so will be keeping those to suit the era of the ute.

So the first time I had a bucket seat repaired I took the whole car in and it cost a fortune. The next time I stripped the material from the frame and only took in the pieces that needed the work and the price was about 10% of the first repair, I had thought about just swapping left to right and when I did realised that it was angled differently to the drivers seat. Yes I soon learnt that those little wiring clips are really sharp but I did save a bucket
@BarnesysBuilds
@BarnesysBuilds 2 жыл бұрын
I did think of just bringing that seat in and getting it repaired but I still reckon it would be $500 or so the way Everything is at the moment. I will just get new skins I reckon once it's on the road but for now I'm fine with the condition they are in after my bodgey fixes😂

Those seats are hidious ,they need re trimming ,your letting the rest of the car down. Some ones taking the piss out of you for 2k to retrim in vinyl. I had several sets of seats retimed last yea buy one of the best motor trimmercs n Melbourne ,VN calias wich are more complex than those VB seats But at the end of the day it's your car ,your choice.

I got new skins from Winner Products in Adelaide, they also did the door panels and roof trim. You would swear they grabbed them straight off the Holden production line, I compared them with the originals and couldn't find any difference. I forget the price but think I got the lot for $1200-ish. Have a look at their website
@BarnesysBuilds
@BarnesysBuilds 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris, yes that's who I got the quote off, all up everything came to $6700! Supply only. The skins and doors cards came to $3000 alone. So not sure when you ordered yours but prices are definitely not the same anymore than what you quoted. Good to here the quality is good but it would want to be for 3k vinyl! Cheers
