I mean its not really a couple of supermodels sailing around the world on a big beautiful orange trimeran is it.. It is nice to know however that some people are getting some entertainment out of it. Cheers!

I'm a fellow Kiwi sailor and have been enjoying your videos. I'm down CHCH way. We are lucky to be able to see parts of the country, not many get to see. Great videos. Keep it up.

I see plenty of flaws for sure. filming, video editing and sailing for that matter is by no means my strong points, however its been a fun process having a go none the less. I appreciate your kind words, Cheers

I wish I could like this video twice. The shark thing (spearfishing) and your thought process about sailing, sails and making decisions on the fly I can relate too 100%. Awesome video

Every sailor has those “man I wish I was sitting at home in front of a warm fire ” moments. But that’s life I guess, and sailing. But the good times are what makes it all worth while. Thanks for the journey. Nicely done.

Hi, a helpful hint. Don't worry about the downhaul. Your genny sheet takes care of that. Also the other ring is for attaching the lift. That way you are supporting the end of the pole and far less likely to bend the pole. When setting up just full the penny, attach the windward sheet and leave the pole all the way forward resting against the forestry. Then when back in in cockpit unfurl and sheet in at the same gradual pace. Easy does it. Removal is the reverse action. When gibing repeat operation on the other side. Perfect control even in very strong wind. Cheers Peter.

Hi Peter. Thanks for the helpful hints. Right yeah, attaching the lift to the ring makes sense now, to take weight at the end. Cheers, kris

Hey Chris. Great to see some content from you again. That's something I don't have on Arana. A jenniker. Could also do with a stay sail, as Arana is set up for cutter rig. Hoping to get out this summer when the coolstore closes over Christmas/New Year. Your kids are giving me some ideas. Maybe visit some anchorages I visited on Spirit Of New Zealand. Haha "Launch McLaunchface". Love it! Knew guy who used to yell...."Freighter! Get a Ferarri!" in that situation.
@blokewithaboat4 ай бұрын
Thanks Owen. The motivation to make the videos comes and goes. Would also love an inner forestay with a stay sail.
@owenpotter24594 ай бұрын
@@blokewithaboat there seems to he quite a fee long running sailing channels are giving up, so good on you for keeping going. I have an inner stay but no sail or lines. There is a storm jib that would probably work. I'm pretty sure the halyard is in place. I see you're very nearly at 1000 subscribers. A big milestone!

First time on the channel and only 1/2 a minute in and it looks good but why do people show me what I'm going to see later on? I don't get that. It's like reading the last page of a book first. Just get on with it 😂 *Edit* ok bit further in - well done mate, good stuff. Living the dream. (just not a fan of the preview stuff that people do these days, kind of spoils it, but that's just me).
