Question of the Week: “What are your best and worst experiences using a character creator?”

Something I love which almost isn't part of the conversation is what you get in the Fable series. It's kinda sad how you don't have much initial control, but the cool part is how your interaction with the game shapes your character. Villagers are scared of your armor, make fun of your beer belly, levelling up your magic causes glowing symbols to appear on your character giving you a "what have I become" feeling, and get scarred. I can see how it would be hard to accomplish with models, but it would be cool to see character creation and this type of "character development" in the same game

I don't believe either of us has ever played the Fable series but this is a super interesting concept! Mordheim is one of my fav examples of something similar. Every time one of your units is downed in a fight, they have to pass a roll to not die at the end of the fight. If they pass the roll then there's still a big chance that they'll suffer an injury, be that a missing leg or new fear of a certain type of enemy. Mordheim is a turnbased tactical game but I couldn't agree more that this type of feature should be in more character driven rpgs.

My favorite is turning up every slider to the right and seeing how someone with Max eyebrows max lips max eyes looks with face in top right corner of head
