Thanks..great review. I have my eyes on one of these and this will help me make up my mind. One thing ..I think you should have removed the screen protector film from the 867S display for this review. It would have been nice to see the digits clearly without being obstructed by the plastic film. Thx for sharing.

I was a fan of fluke, but with the prices of fluke and the low functions of these multimeters for such high prices, I changed to Greenlee Dm860A, it is the same Brymen BM869, and I am happy with this multimeter, it brings more functions, than my fluke 87V and the greenlee dm830A is cheaper than fluke 87V they are the same in functions

Hi. Thanks for the video. What is the other DMM? I can not to find this modele in a retail shops...

(T)BM869(s) can do Two Thermocouple Readings (while '867 has no temperature reading ability), has switchable Low-Pass Filter (Hz ~V VFD Range), 100kHz bandwidth. (T)BM867(s) has lower (20kHz) bandwidth compared to '869; that only means that its TrueRMS conversion circuitry has -3dB roll-off on lower frequency and somewhat worse specs on ACV/ACA readings. It's all in the Brymen/Toptronic manuals.

About "diod test" - you should use white diod as a tester. Red diod has small current demanding and actually lightening it means nothing. A lot of cheaper multimeters can do light it easily. What is important to know is if the multimeter can fire up diod with higher current demands.

at 2V/0.4 mA max (per the data sheet) it definitelly cannot light up white diodes.

This is not a 500000 count multimeter . The 500000 count resolution is available in dc volts mode only. Has anyone who doesn't work in a calibration lab found any use for this feature? Otherwise, it is just a 50000 count multimeter designed primarily for the electrical power industry. It is not a good multimeter for the electronics electronics engineer or technician because it has serious deficiencies, most notably frequency measurement only up to 200khz on volts and current, and 1 Mhz for square wave signals. For electricians though, the conductance measurement function could be used for insulation testing, which might save having to invest in an expensive megger insulation tester.

Thanks, that's interesting to know. I work in electronics, and even though I don't really need it, I was eyeing this model just because I thought it would be cool to have a 500000 count multimeter. But after reading your comment I'll pass on it.

If this dmm is meant for electricians, then please give us an example of one suited for electronics...

Electricians Don't even Need 50000 count Dmm 6000 counts is enough. Nd I m also an electronics enginear why would you need A 500000 counts dmm on Any range rather than on DC? It's a Superior meter For Fault finding in Telecom sector it gives you ac+dc voltage reading and if you are Bothered too much about Frequency measurements greater than 100kHz then you need a Scope not a DMM. It's a well built industrial Equipment
