That scenery is fabulous. A lot came back to me as you got closer to Trenton. One thing, clicked the map link and got a message that I didn't have permission to view. Weird. Looking forward to seeing the video of the Trenton Port Marina! Happy boating.

I have seen your previous videos where I believe you actually tied up at lock 13 just north of the twoonie and the big town of Campbellford. What you may not have known though is Capers restaurant has new owners and chef, very fine eatery. Also just around the corner from Doohers is Antonia's bistro, likewise excellent food. Nice to have such gems in small town Campbellford. By the way, our slip is at Crates in Belleville, just east of Trentport. They are a full service marina ring by Ryan Crate. We are going on our 4th year there and are pleased with the service, quality of work and friendly people. I believe next year they are hoping to have their expanded harbour completed. Cheers until next time, safe travels. " tied one on" out.

Interesting to see your interaction with "Slow Bells". Many of the loopers stop in Mackinaw City as well. Slow Bells was there for several days and just left last weekend, if I remember correctly.
@BoatingWithBoogaboo5 жыл бұрын
Slow Bells was moving v e r y slow, indeed. This was, obviously, on our way south to Trenton, but we ended up passing him again almost two weeks later, up on the Severn River at Lock 42 🙄

we purchased a motorhome and now do less boating. how do people put up w/ the smokie crowded campgrounds , i prefer the water anytime!
@jrschantz5 жыл бұрын
I've got both the motorhome for land touring and the Sea Ray. Agree totally. The marina life is superior and facilities better as a rule.

Thanks again Paul...looking forward to see where you are going from here! Quick question, how many days from your home port to Trenton? Thanks again.
@BoatingWithBoogaboo5 жыл бұрын
We took eight days to get to Trenton from Lake Simcoe. As you've probably noticed from this series, some days were quite short, but most were 5-6 hours of running in between stops. Yes, we could have put another hour or two in each day to get there quicker, but is was simply way too hot to go much farther on each leg. Might have been able to shave a couple of days off the trip, but why? We were on holidays and the scenery is too nice to just blow past it all :-)

Is Channel 22 a recreational VHF channel in Canada? It's one of the USCG working channels in the states.

Canadian Coast Guard uses channel 2-6, twenty six. Sorry, that's how I hear them saying it on the radio 😁

You went through Campbellford and didn't stop to taste the fine food at Capers or Antonia's Bistro. Shame on you. Should have tied up at the twoonie or down by locks 11,12 and explored the fine town of Campbellford. You have no idea what you missed especially at Doohers bakery!!!
@BoatingWithBoogaboo5 жыл бұрын
We have stayed at Campbellford, and we have sampled the great treats at Dooher's Bakery! This time around, we didn't have time to stop when heading south, and when we turned back northward, BOTH sides of the river were completely full - the first time they've ever experienced that!! So, my friend, it wasn't for the lack of trying, just that things didn't turn out how we'd hoped. BTW, if you follow along on my Facebook Pages, you'll have seen a number of posts with non other than #Boogaboo tied up in thier wall, right alongside Mr Townsend's giant Twonie 👍
