This question of the most powerful Orisha has come across my mat many times over the years. This question was recently posted under a KZbin video for Ogun that we posted some time ago. In true Internet fashion, MANY more people have took the liberty of commenting under videos, podcast, and social media post correcting us as to who the most powerful Orisha is in their estimation and experience. Here, we get into this topic and provide the actual answer to this question. Power is truly a relative idea based on the relationships that we hold with forces around us. In this session we take a look at the concept of “power” and how it relates to our ability to design the experiences around us with true intention.

Wonderful segment on the equations of the Orisha Chief. I would say the most powerful thing that can come of Orishas are the answers that their mathematics provide. The number aspect of the Orisha seems to reveal very interesting things about the force they govern. It was very interesting for me to learn about Oya and all her colors, and then to connect the fact that 9 multiplied by any number provides an answer that can always be broken back down to 9. The force of Oggun is unique, so no 2 numbers can equate to 3 or 7, same with Yemaya. Interesting ways of thinking about Orisha energy appear from their number value, which I have always found very amazing.
