You guys say they should add. Slow down! They have to move guys out. Then they can add. After this season. Cheers

Rumor was Carolina offered Necas to Columbus for the 4th pick. There was no way Columbus was going to trade 4th overall for Necas. Why would Columbus do that.

Kane would've been interesting. It appears that he signed an extension with Detroit. 1 year 4 million cap hit - 6.5 AAV we agree, the draft has changed a lot. Thank you for the comment and for tuning in Go Habs Go

If you get more guys, what are you gonna do with Anderson/Gallager/Armia/Devorak? These guys are vets. You're not thinking like a GM. Next off-season, maybe we could pick up a role player with offensive upside. Until then, we can't. I think Armia has finally arrived. I think in 24-25, he picks up where he left off. If he does, signing him for a couple more years could be good for his defensive abilities.
@GETPUCKDPodcast3 ай бұрын
Most players pick up and do well on their contract years. As we saw with this free agency period, and during the trade deadlines, you can find veterans everywhere. Anderson, Armia, Dvorak, and Gally are paid way too much. Anderson had a bad season, but still gets the benefit of the doubt. We think that he can turn it around. However, his contract is a little long for what he is bringing TODAY. Armia is an enigma. You get some games where you see how talented he is and then he disappears for 20 games. Now, one way or another, this is his last run with the Habs. Dvorak is a serviceable center, but it hasn't worked in Montreal, and he can't stay healthy. His game is made for west coast hockey. Gally is a true vet, pro and leader. He is a heart and soul player, but his contract is very steep for what he brings, and he has real hard miles on him. You can see he wants to do certain things that his body won't allow. Point is that every team needs a perfect balance of youth and vets, but the vets the Habs have are not exactly irreplaceable. At the moment, they are all taking up a lot of cap and roster spots. Now, with all that being said, none of these guys are going to pout or create any problems in the room. Matheson & Savard are good contributors and good vets Thank you for the comment and for tuning in Go Habs Go

I concur with Vito. Reinbacher is more valuable to us now than Michkov with Demidov in the fold. Reinbacher is a potential #1 RSD at 6'3/210...Michkov and Demidov would be overkill.
@GETPUCKDPodcast3 ай бұрын
Hopefully, Vito doesn't read this. We don't want you agreeing with him to get to his head LOL. A more balanced team is the logical approach. RD's, good ones, are valuable in the NHL and not easy to get. Thank you for the comment and for tuning in Go Habs Go

Martin Lapointe was asked last year why they didn't take Michkov, he replied wait next there will be a really good Russian in Demidov, a year later they actually got him

Ya, I know, Caufield/Suzuki/Slaf/Dach/Guile will never be vets, right? Matheson is a vet, isn't he?

We are not united. Fans like you wanna spend and go outside the organization for talent. The other half see we already have our top 6 and D. You just don't wanna let the kids develop. I'm glad management stays the course, even with your pressure. When we are ready, We could use a 4th line vet or 2. We don't need anything else. Hughes knows it. Demidov and Hage finish their thought. Cheers

They got a lot of pieces but we need a legitimate number 1 dman. I like Guhle, Hutson and Reinbacher but we need a Heiskanen or Pieterangelo. Those are true number 1 dmen.
@finalguildis3 ай бұрын
Did Florida have a true number 1? You can argue they have ekblad but reinbacher can easily become an ekblad. You don't need that true number 1 if you have 3-4 number 2s.
@GETPUCKDPodcast3 ай бұрын
The belief is that they have those guys, they just haven't hit those ceilings yet. Reinbacher's comparables (Ceiling) have been Pietrangelo/Devon Toews. Floor Guhle's comparable(s) (ceiling) - Shea Weber-esqe with more mobility and less of a canon, Floor - Parayko, Hanifin, McDonagh Hutson comparable(s) Ceiling - Fox, Hughes, Makar, Floor - Spurgeon Please note: There are not our comparables. These are what was said about each of the players mentioned, across multiple articles and sites. The issue is that 98% of the time, dmen like Heiskanen and Pietrangelo are not available, and when they are, they choose specific destinations i.e. Pietrangelo with vegas Thank you for the comment and for tuning in Go Habs Go

The reason why demidov is such a more better option than michkov too is he plays at both ends! Knows what it takes to win! Michkov is pure offence while demidov does both. Also a very very great kid! Would 100% rather have demidov and reinbacher than having michkov and demidov. Reinbacher will be shutting down the other teams top players allowing demidov to do his thing while also helping out on D hes a real one! Best player since guy leflowerrrr

The team is more balanced with Demidov and Reinbacher VS Michkov and Demidov. Had they drafted Michkov and Demidov, then they would still be looking for young prospect RD with top pairing potential. Thank you for the comment and for tuning in Go Habs Go

Jake debrusk a terrible season? 40 pts is not bad considering youd be bringing him in as a 3rd line guy! He was only getting 2.5 mil! That was insane value for 40 pts and consistantly puting up 20 goals a season AND almost had a pt per game in these playoffs! For the right price id definitely take a debrusk on my team! For the right price of course. But like cmon saying you dont want him bc he isnt consistant? What do you think a third liner does? You think they consistantly put up pts? If they did theyd be pt per game players. Id love debrusk on montreal on that third line
@GETPUCKDPodcast3 ай бұрын
well, free agency came and went. Debrusk signed a 7 year deal at 5.5 million. If you were the Habs GM, would you have given him that? This is the same contract Josh Anderson signed for. Guess what Anderson and Debrusk have in common, their highest goals total in a single season is 27 goals. Also, you label him as a third liner. Boston was and has always played him in the top 6. He was drafted in the 1st round (14th overall), ahead of Barzal, Kyle Connor, Boeser, Konecny, and Chabot, to be a top 6 guy. Oh and Sebastian Aho (2nd round) Thank you for the comment and for tuning in. Go Habs Go

We heard and read that to. The way the draft unfolded, the pieces that were available between 12-20, were too enticing for the teams in those slots. However, there are reports that their target was Michael Hage the entire time. It could just be they are saying that, but we will never know. Thank you for tuning in and for the comment Go Habs Go
