I’m only a few minutes in, Jay HAS to be a Newfie with that accent and sense of humour!! BC girl here, just had a massive black bear on my property (600 lbs +) that was 25 feet away. Stared me down as I slowly backed into my house. Had a wolf last month and cougars show up a few times a year. Can’t wait to watch the rest of the video. ❤🇨🇦

I lived in Newfoundland for a couple of years as a kid and his accent sounds familiar. As a Coloradan, I think all y'all up there in the North and Northeast sound Canadian or Canada-adjacent. I think the accents are cute.

Wow, living in BC certainly brings you close to nature-and to some incredible (and intimidating!) wildlife. That must have been quite the adrenaline rush having a bear that size so close! It sounds like you’ve developed a strong sense of how to stay safe around such animals.

Yeah...I was listening to this while cooking and thought it sounded very strange the way his voice and cadence changed while talking about that. Later I read your comment and watched that sequence. Viewing it just added to my suspicion! It's very strange that he willingly brought it up...then got nervous and changed the subject.

“I shot the sheep”. Very honest testimony from the dude w large grin. So glad both men survived the attack. This interview brought large amounts of background info, great interview. “I could write a book on a thousand ways to fall “. This video gains interest as it goes on. Many great stories within. Can’t remember the hunters name 😕, so glad he stood his ground with the newspaper, begging him for an account on his attack. Also, his father told hospital staff his led hurt, two days in they confirm, yea, you have a broken leg. This story really touches my soul. I was born as a Thalidamide baby. My late mother took a morning sickness 💊, Bendectin. As a result, twelve fingers and a problem with my tongue flap. Lots of physical therapy and several surgeries. Wish I could befriend this guy in the red coat.

The most shocking thing was hearing how the graphics on any Wii game was better than graphics on a 2015 movie starring Leo DiCaprio

Arm chair quarterbacks…… why waste your time scrutiny this man? He lives in the woods. He eats what he shoots. Many of us living in the city have to buy meat at a market. The unfortunate cows and pigs, chickens as well, all have to live within a fence, large or small. But, the butchered animals have to die bf we butcher them, same w the wild game that Jay eats. This world is so brutal. Some of us, including Jay get teased all thru school. Dogs and cats get run over and hit by vehicles. This world is not fair. Jay is a good old boy, so am I. Quit harping in Jay. Yea, he has a right to ridicule the movie scene with DeCaprio. It may have more to do with the bet than the video in Jays case.

The reason they protected the grizzly bears is because their population went down so bad that they were dying out I brought wolves back in the Yellowstone which make the elk and buffalo population healthier because the wolves eat the sick they don't need to help you if you were that smart you would know that I'll take the easiest kill they can get and yes in the winter they follow animals for miles till they get tired and eat them but how long does it take to kill that moves with a rifle works on cycles there's lots of moves when there's lots of game and when the game dies out the wolves die out and then the game rebuilds the grizzlies are the top of the food line so they're the same way if there isn't enough food they dissipate to but there's obviously enough food or there wouldn't be so many bears you guys aren't telling the truth factors people are going farther and farther in the bush where they don't belong and that's why there's so many bear encounters don't make it out like the grizzlies are terrible Anaheim hunted for many years and Alberta Northern Alberta mostly and I've seen many grizzly bears I've had a few instances where it was kind of scary but grizzlies stay away from me I like Bears take my kill when I left it overnight fact of life if you're in a bush
