Chad, my name is Luis I’m from Idaho. I remember many videos back you said you wanted to put out quality videos instead of quantity. I don’t know the proper name but you have been putting some very very high level quality of story telling. I love it. I love your content. I hope to one day be able to take a trip like that and see it with my own eyes. Amazing amazing work that you put into these videos. I just want to tell you how much I enjoy watching them. I appreciate the time to take for this to happen

Wow, saw our sticker from our 2019 trip. We stayed two nights at one of the hotels and have to say ours was much nicer than yours. We had my Service Dog and the folks could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We had the buffet style as well but were asked to avoid the peak hours with our Service Dog if possible. He would be a distraction to the workers who would want to pet him, so we used the nice lounge area, large screen tv, smoking fast wifi and my wife would get our food and every time one of the staff helped her carry the second tray. I think they did so they could see our dog. Apparently, word was out he was there so many workers would walk by to say hi. Great trip for us and your video brought back some fond memories.

There ARE movie theaters, gyms, swimming pools, gardens, rooms like a catered convenience store with no cash register, to get quick bites of food. All fresh food!! There are giant lounging areas. Like big fancy hotels.

I really enjoying these episodes. I feel like I'm being transported to someplace that I'd never get to go to otherwise. Looking out at the rain here in Ireland on 01.01.2024 and c7 degrees celsius, yet here I am "travelling" with Chad in Alaska/Canada. Great content Chad. Well done. And thank you! Stay safe and Happy New year to you and all your followers

Congratulations Chad on your adventure & also sharing this with us. It takes a lot of courage to be able to make that kind of an expedition so far with the very cold & brutal elements. And have a very safe trip back home to Washington State & can’t wait to hear back from you.

WOW! What a journey!! ... what a journey of events!!! First we had all the detailed preparations for the big Return to the Arctic adventure trip. Then we had a seemingly endless drive with majestic views, skillfully edited. A symphony of visual AND thumping music transmitting emotions. Furthermore we are now having an introduction to life and work in such inhospitable environment. Showing that all lifestyle could done because of and for "money" (oil!). And, in a side note, the reality that 100% living inside a van is possible but a break in a "cabin" is a small blessing indeed. Anxiously waiting for the next episode, dueling into who knows what. It will be pleasantly good, for sure. But what will it be? Unforgiving Alaska showing its reality. Thanks Chad!

Enjoyed your video. Fantastic photography. Last time I was there, was sheephunting about 30 years ago with some bros. We went up in a beat up square body chevy pickup, hiked up the mountain to the right of atigun pass. We were camped on the top of the brooks range with vast views of the north slope. When the northern lights were out, we were so high up, we looked across,, instead of up, to see them. Many of my lifelong friends work on the slope. Many of them there right now. We all grew up in fairbanks. Good times.

Wow, I've never seen anything like this before. Thank you for bringing this to us. It's amazing to see where oil comes from and all the hard work it takes so we can burn it to live and enjoy life on the road. Nicely done!

Oh my goodness! That repurposed, antenna mast 'structure' (that you plugged your engine block heater into), reminded me of the old 'IdleAire' structures that you used to see at Truck Stops! The IdleAire system; provided Truck Drivers with, heat, A/C, broadband internet, and electricity...for a (exorbitant) fee... It went the way of the DoDo.

@LivingTheVanLife, great trip and series. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I have one big problem: I wish people would not lie about surviving in “extreme” temps. We get down to -50°F here in Montana, and guess what? We survive just fine. -20° - -30° F is not unusual during winter. Yes vehicles become hard to start, but they do, especially with engine heaters plugged in. I’ve also been in Arizona when it was 127° F. It was hot, but survived just fine. We could not drive on the roads as the asphalt would melt to the tires, and the excessive heat would blow tires, but to survive in the heat, while hot, was doable. Although I’ll take -30° any day over 127° F.

Wow. Brutal conditions in winter. Three of us drove a little Jeep up the haul road many years ago in September and tent-camped north of the Brooks range by a creek. When we went for a morning walk we discovered that during the night a caribou had been killed and dismembered a hundred feet away during the night. Gulp. It is absolutely remote country, full of wildlife.

The camp you stayed at is pure luxury compared to camps iv stayed in and worked. I also would do 30 days on and 1 week off depending sometimes not even maybe few days off.. 10-14 hour days. I have many stories about camps I've been in.. some decent and some horrible.. pretty much prisons out there lol happy to be able to experience it myself but don't work north anymore.
