This is gorgeous!! In my opinion, as an artist for the last 50 years, no plan is the best plan. Go with your gut and you can't go wrong. And if it does go "wrong" (in relation to your vision), change your vision and work with what you have. In the event something isn't salvageable (and there will always be someone who likes a piece you hate), trash it or cover it in gesso and start over. Even the masters did this. We know today because we have the tech to be able to see what is below a current painting. The masters covered the original and repainted the piece all the time. They also gave their "crap" pieces to another artist under their tutelage, who covered it and started over. Many valuable paintings have been discovered by tech being able to see through the layers to the original. I have to say that I'd never thought to treat resin like an acrylic pour. Honestly, it works better in resin as there's a longer working time than in pure acrylic paint. You've inspired me!

that's refreshing! after seen a bunch of guys making counter tops, finally i descovered that you can move the support and manipulate the matter. oh, now i' m pretty sure i can do it. thank you so much for inspiring us. your creation is the color' s poetry. i can watch at this all day long, really. is like to fly over a magic ocean. loooooove it.

Absolutely stunning! I can't wait to do it! And I love that you shared all of the details so that I can get the same colors (they match my office!). The only thing that was a negative was the music. Some nice, soft night time jazz or some spa music might have been less distracting. But the art was THE BEST! Thank you, Debra!

Debra thanks for your reply. I notice you only used the torch to give heat for movement. Is that what you normally use, or do you also use a heat gun, and if so how do you know when to stop? As I said after a short amount of time there isn't movement to speak of and I use ResinArt as it is supposed to give 45 minutes working time.....thanks for your help

I really liked your finished piece, colors are gorgeous together. I noticed the resin looked like it was pooling a bit on the canvas at one stage, is it like paint, where you should get the majority of the canvas? With paint it will crack if you leave too much on the canvas, I'm new to resin so not sure what will happen if you leave to much on, the canvas might sag? Also you had some amazing lacing and cells, do you think that is due to the products you use? Thanks for sharing!!

Resin with no voc’s do not require a respirator. Art Resin brand has done the testing with certification to that effect.
@adinuta1000
@adinuta1000 5 жыл бұрын
@@sharoncausey8480 All resins has fumes when apply heat or torch it. Another thing are the pigments or other substances added in resin for colouring and they are not included in that certification. Better safe than sorry :) Just saying... Good luck and keep up the good work! You paintings are gorgeous.
@hannahl6144
@hannahl6144 5 жыл бұрын
@@sharoncausey8480 this isn't true, I wish it was. Art Resin guarantees their resin has no VOC's when used per their instruction, once you add pigments as well as heat, you are changing the molecular structure and they cannot guarantee the resin will be fume free. I've asked them directly to clarify this cause I didn't want to go through all of the safety requirements needed.

I like your piece, but I know what you mean. It looks a bit muddy. The colors kind of melted, if you will. I think the problem is using the Stone Cost Base for both the black and white. That stuff is good for swiping, but at that, just white OR black. Not both. Since you weren’t going for cells, just a regular white and black might have given you the look you wanted. It’s still a pretty painting, however. I’d love to see you do another using the same color pallet, but without the base tints. Nice video too. 🧚🏼‍♀️

You didn’t overwork your piece at all. The problem is the SCC base tint. It will take your paints and muddy them. We’ve discovered you can mix a smal amount into other paints and swipe the colors over that and get cells. Otherwise, You’re better off using other black or white pigments. This is not a failure at all, it’s very pretty, but save your aggravation and use other products.

It’s interesting to see the numbers of times you are dissatisfied with your piece. I saw numerous occasions where the painting looked perfect. Of course the end result is gorgeous! Only thing I would have done different was to have some tiles ready to capture the paint poured off the canvas, as coasters.
