Your painting was great to start with but adding the gold and silver leaf to the painting really made it pop! I love the jewelry with the gold and silver leaf. The ones you made with the crystals are amazing! I really love those!

I'm a resin jewelry artist from Austin, Tx and I'm just starting to use gold leaf in my resin. Thank you for this genuinely pleasant common sense video! Its relaxed vibe is like a quiet afternoon crafting with a friend, which is a sorely needed feeling during this crazy year of quarantines & social distancing. I've liked & subscribed and am looking forward to watching more of your videos.

I do enjoy adding gold, silver and rose gold foil to my jewelry pcs. Sometimes I use polymer clay to add a specific style, size and color choice to my beads. Thankfully the foil adheres to raw polymer clay without glue. Love the splash of metallic! Great video, useful information as always.

I was taught to use a sheet of waxed paper to pick up the gold leaf sheets and put it on the project. Similar to the brushes, the static I guess holds it to put it on the piece. It works pretty well...give it a try..😀

Steve, I REALLY enjoy your channel, and I’m even watching your really old videos! You always have the best tips and I’ve learned a lot! I’m hoping you can help me with where to find the caps that fit on these pendant molds. They look like regular end caps for leather jewelry, but I can’t find any large enough for the pendant molds. I’m in the U.S., so that could make a difference. But even search terms for these would be helpful! Thanks so much! D. Hermonat

Thank you so much for the tips I purchased 3 colors of these gold silver and copper I have not tried any yet so I'm glad I caught your video 😊 I also love the pendant molds I have several shapes of those as well. Do the leaf flakes not glide to the bottom because it is extremely lightweight? Would you be able to send me the link of the leaf glue? In Canada if possible. I really like your painting the colors are beautiful 😍 many thanks for another great video I really appreciate your tips and you're fun to watch. some people are so boring 😴 I can't watch them too often I go nutters. Ooooh pretty! I've got some faux gold/silver/rose leaf in my wishlist. Where did you get the caps for the round moulds please Steve? I was also wondering if you've got any tips for getting rid of lil dents left by bubbles on the top/edges of pieces? Had it happen a few times before I knew to use the cocktail sticks to go around the edges x

Hi Steve, thanks so much for your fantastic and informative videos. I’m an absolute newby to this beautiful art form. With the leaf, I found that it sits at the top or bottom rather than blend throughout; this is on the little pendants and a basic square one. I’ve followed your video but I’m a tad disappointed so would you know what I’m doing wrong? Many thanks Priscilla West Australia

Hi Steve, I am so frustrated, my gold leaf never stays suspended in my projects, it always floats to the top which, when I unmold the piece, it is all at the bottom (trinket boxes). I have searched for an answer on how to keep it suspended and you don't seem to have any troubles so I am hoping you have a trick for me. Love your videos, thank you

Hi Steve thanks for this introduction to gold and silver leaf very interesting. I'm thinking of using gold leaf to enhance a previously repaired porcelain figurine in the manner of Japanese 'Kintsugi". My question is this - some of the repair lines on the figurine ars a little uneven running from very thin cracks to a bit wider and also with varying depths. That being the case, in your opinion, would the resin you use be able to act a a filler for these cracks and so smooth out them so that I can add foil over the top? Many thanks

I'll be working on an egg shaped mold, almost the size of a real egg. I kind of grinded the gold leaf into smaller particles, and I'm worried they'll just sink to the bottom of the mold until the resin hardens. Do you think there's anything I can do to avoid this?

By rubbing the brush on your hair you are transferring oils and dust from your scalp onto your resin work. It would be difficult to "clean" this off. If you pour a clear coat of resin over this you will be left with spotting. using tweezers to transfer the gold leaf will prevent this from happening.
