Last week my submission was submitted to the ATF at 9:30 Friday night..Approval came on Tuesday at 2 PM...I had it in my legal possession at 3. Wow...I bought one from Brandon Maddox and Mac Brothers in 2012 and the approval time was 9 months! This man knows his business!

Great video, thanks for having Mr Maddox on. About accuracy- I bought a Banish Buck 30 for my Grendel, but while waiting for it to arrive (it took 5 months), I bought a Howa superlite in .308. I couldn't quite achieve the sub-MOA guarantee within my first day of shooting. The Buck 30 arrived and I tried it on my .308 for fun and it improved my accuracy by a ton. I'm firing Barnes 130 grain, by the way.

Silencer Central has been great to work with! I own 4 Banish suppressors. All awesome. I’m looking at buying a Backcountry next. What would be extremely helpful is a chart showing decibel reduction for a Banish 30 in 7” configuration; B30 in 9” configuration; and a Backcountry all shot from the same .30 cal rifle. I find it difficult to decide which suppressor to purchase without such comparison. From what I’ve been told, the backcountry suppresses somewhere between the 7” and 9” configurations of the B30. But a simple experiment and chart would be helpful.

Good interview. One of the things to consider on having a barrel threaded is that the length of some thin profile barrels will have to be shortened to accommodate the threading. It would still be better than having to get an entirely new rifle, and a slightly shorter barrel can still perform adequately in the field. The prevalence of preference for muzzle devices has many manufacturers threading their barrels to begin with.

Do you have to add everyone to the trust when it’s created or can you add someone later. How would that be done

Hi Ron, thank you for all the work you do. Listening to you from France I am surprise that it is very regulated to own a silencer in USA Here in France it is very easy to buy one and without any declaration I would even say that it is encourage buy the gouvernement for all those reason you've mentioned in this video Last thing I am hunting with the 8,5x55 blaser caliber and I wonder if you know it and what do you think about this cartridge Thank for all Aurevoir
@RonSpomerOutdoors4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind words, sir. I've never met the 8.5x55 Blaser, but I understand it was built to be an optimum .338 in short barreled rifles with silencers. Using a larger diameter and weight bullet to offset lower velocity. Not a particularly great option for long reach, but quite effective inside 250 yards.

Still remember how astonished we were back then when the first hunter showed up with a silencer at the range. At that time he had a special license because he was working with his dogs on driven hunts in the Berlin area. Couple of months they were legal in most areas in Germany. Here it is pretty easy to get one. It's the same process as if you were buying a rifle or shotgun. You buy one and have to go to the authority and get it registered within 2 weeks. Provided you have a hunting license (which is not that simple). The aluminum silencers sell for 300-450eur. Titanium models are available for app. 800€. Retrofitting a thread to the barrel on older rifles is possible. But that requires you to have the gun tested with over pressure ammunition at an official facility ("Beschussamt"). Gunsmiths are taking care of this. It can easily take 6 weeks or more and will cost 350eur. As per german law the rifle is considered a "relevant part of a gun in terms of gunlaw" adding a thread is a modification to it. That's why.

Good advice and there is nothing wrong with sc. But they do not have a large selection and they like to sell the ones they make. a local gs or silencer shop gives you more options. Silencer central needs to change their business model.

Being from the UK it seems strange watching this, we've had easy access to moderators for years, in fact there's rumours of them becoming completely unregulated.

One more thing if I get one does that mean if I loan a rifle to a friend and he gets checked? He could go to jail?
@michaeltosser73634 ай бұрын
If you are there with him, no - Silencer Central hosts range days where anyone (legal) can test drive them. If you lend to a friend, are not with them, and do not have them listed on the NFA trust (and they do not have a copy of the Form 4 and trust paperwork), then yes - and you likely are, too.

WHAT IF WE JUST FABRICATE, AND USE OUR OWN "IMPROVISED"/DISPOSABLE SUPPRESSORS???!!!!

Fact : maxim invented the muffler AND the silencer Why are we required to use one but have to beg, pay, and register for the other?
@rogerf72654 ай бұрын
Sir Hiram Stevens Maxim, is the pioneer in the development of the machine gun. It was actually Maxim's son Hiram Percy Maxim that invented the suppressor and car muffler after seeing how his father's hearing was damaged from test firing the machine guns that he was developing. He also developed sub sonic ammunition to make them even quieter.

I have a .30 caliber can on a 223. It’s nice but for my use I wish I would have gotten a smaller can.
@mr.mr.33014 ай бұрын
Don’t be. Depending on what you have you could buy a 223 endcap. But you also increase back pressure a little bit, which is a problem often with 223556 considering the platform you may be using.
