I just installed this on my 2008 porsche cayenne turbo. Very simple and straight forward. As illustrated in this video, removing the rubber from the bearing is the hardest part. Be patient though, it will come all the way off with a LOT of scraping with a razor blade. In the end, it totally fixes the problem. If you have a rubbing, chirping, whisping, or pounding sound from the center console area, this is likely your fix. You can easily test by raising your air suspension all the way up, or jack up your vehicle, crawl under and wiggle the drive shaft. If there is a lot of play, then likely the support has failed. $399 on amazon. A bit pricey for what it is, but at least its a permanent fix. And you won't have to remove the entire driveshaft or re-balance anything. Worth it! The entire process took me about an hour to complete. Thanks to those who posted these videos. Much appreciated!

Did you have to scrape all of the rubber off to bare metal? I have a little bit of rubber left and I can't fit the EPS part over the bearing. I wasn't sure if it's incompatibility (I have a 2006 Cayenne Turbo S) or that I haven't scraped enough.

I had the same problem on my Porsche Cayenne.i did the 10 dollar fuelhose repair and it worked perfectly, in fact it is still working a year after the repair. there are youtube videos on how to, in basics you cut a piece of fuel hose into small sections and tie them together with a decent set of zipties (be aware to use high quality ones) they go around the shaft, and into the bearingring. zipties to the bearingring and now the ring of rubber fuelhosetube-pieces is your bearing. works like a charm. 10 dollar / 45 minute fix
This assumes your center bearing is still good. If the knocking disappears but the whining remains, you have to pull the entire shaft anyway cause the bearing is bad. If you're replacing the whole shaft (they are fairly cheap), then of course, I would retrofit the new shaft with the EPS kit from the start which should keep it running smooth for the remaining life of the car. (or the JDX performance one) I just bought a whole new shaft and tried to remove mine since I have the whining bearing noise as well as the knocking under torque demand. However, I cannot get my car up high enough to slide underneath with tools to do it. My jack doesn't have the reach to put the whole car on jack stands. Taking car to my mechanic on Monday and have him do it on the lift. Also, if replacing entire shaft, there is a special centering tool (350.00) from ECS Tuning that will ensure you put the new shaft in the exact centerline of the tunnel cause incorrect placement can cause vibration.

hi i have a whining sound from my 2008 touareg.. though at first was back wheel bearing but apparently its probably not. i see now alot of people having to do this Driveshaft on theirs at about the same mileage that mine as hit.. i m wonder though does it make a whining sound? its kinda like driving with winter hard tread tires in summer but louder.

Шприц медицинской с иглой. Спокойно загонит смазку даже через манжет. A medical syringe with a needle will drive the lubricant. Even through the cuff

It's the rear prop toward the transfer case end if that helps buddy. Thats split kit he uses in this is £350+ where I live and is almost double the cost of an after market new complete shaft.
