I am part of a glider club that uses a cable system to launch their gliders. Those are non powered and considered true gliders. Nothing against power gliders and more than half the members own a powered glider. That being said, that is one very beautiful glider. Our flying field is as big as that one also. No one has a glider that size. Its tempting to get one now that I have a field. Our field is always full of various birds that are known to ride thermals. There is something unique about our field that attracts them( probably food sources). I prefer flying my gliders in the evening as there is maximum lift going on then. You can see the air invert at dusk as the dew appears and the air becomes heavier after dark. Many time my glider goes up dry, and comes down wet as the sun sets. I have the night Radian with lighting so I can fly longer. I also have the Pawnee, an internally lit crop duster type plane that I enjoy flying well into the evening. Nice video!

Hahaha, a rocket with servos is an idea I've had but have never done so far. And the sound of gliders like this is lovely.

What motor did you put in it ? I have one and it’s great but the PNP electronics are not great :)
@fellpower4 жыл бұрын
Maybe u can say a few things. 1. Can u plz take a pic, how u mount your cam on the tail - and what type of cam it was? 2. What are your servos and motor setup? Stock (PNP)? 3. Can u share your model from the radio? I build one too - and i want to take that infos to not crah it ;) Build and Programm it, by myself, but want to see, how others do that.

I’ve got a 3m multiplex Cularis and am looking for a bigger model. Just wondering if this model is easy to fly and land, not much dihedral in the wing so you prob need a flat landing field? Many thanks for help. How does the audio vario work,
@Joyplanes4 жыл бұрын
Hi, this model is relatively easy to fly but yes you need a flat place to land. Also if you have some experience with a 3m glider then this will be ok but this one is very heavy and needs more speed to fly.
@13thnotehifireviews74 жыл бұрын
@@Joyplanes Thanks for replyinh. Ive been flying RC models for years from 1/4 powered Cubs and Tiger moths to gliders. Dont do it as much as I used too. Love your start up logo.

I like the redundancy system. Have you tested it? I don't mean while the plane is flying but with a helper on the ground with the plane pulling a few wires or battery out to see if the system cuts in properly while you are a short distance away operating the controls. Absolutely beautiful plane well done on the build and set up
@Joyplanes4 жыл бұрын
Yes I've tested the system and it is so simple that works perfect, they are just diodes. The thing is not only having that redundancy with two batteries but also two connectors in case one fails. Thanks for your comment.

this is cleary end-of-the-game glider, what an elegance! Wonder if you took any flight-speed measurements or have any idea how fast it goes on that motor?
@vladimirpetkov19593 жыл бұрын
Actually this is not in the End-of-the-game category. It is too heavy. F3B, F3F, F3J, F5J are what you are referring to. This model is cool, i was considering it too but for a little bit more money the gliders are much better. This one is nice too but still a litle bit too large for my experience.

what is its max flight time
@Joyplanes2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the battery, the thermals or the slope, it is a glider so the main goal is not to use the motor all the time, and just glide taking thermals to gain altitude. It could be minutes, hours or days flying.

@Joyplanes RC - I think you may have a faulty G-RX8 receiver on board judging by those telemetry lost/telemetry recovered alerts at short range. I just found out about this; apparently there was a faulty batch where a resistor was accidentally replaced with a capacitor in error, causing this behaviour. More details in the link; if your RX is affected get it swapped out by your dealer. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2918009-FrSky-G-RX8-receiver-Free-Test%21/page196#post45607835
@Joyplanes4 жыл бұрын
But I get the same behavior with other receivers, maybe the whole radio is trash haha.
@gingermattb4 жыл бұрын
@@Joyplanes There is definitely something wrong, you should not be getting telemetry lost alarms all the time. I see you have posted in that thread now, probably best to continue the conversation there. :)
