Hello there, I am new to keeping flowerhorns. I ordered one and I will hopefully get it in a few days. It is a male pearl head srd (3 inches in size). I have currently prepared 2 feet by 1 feet tank but will upgrade to 3 feet by 1.5 feet tank within a month or two. So, I was thinking of using Okiko Platinum in the morning as it has higher protein content and using Okiko Red Head Mark in the evening. I want to feed these two pellets every day and some other live or dried food and vegetables. Is this ok? Please let me know. Thank you!

Hi! I purchased a flower horn on 3 july and its been more than a month but my fish is getting so much scared whenever i go near to tank he tries to hide everywhere and he will not eat food until and unless i go away from tha tank please help

Hello again! I need your help! I purchased/rescued an adult male Cencu Flowerhorn about 3 weeks ago. He's about a year old and 8 1/4" inches long (including his tail). He was kept in a 20 gallon tank and I can't be sure of the water conditions. There was some problems with shipping. The problem is with his tail. It is badly "frayed". He came to me with this problem. He's now happy in a 29 gallon tank. It's been baby-proofed ~ even the intake tube for the filter has a sponge on it. (In addition to the sponge filter) He has a place to hide and feel secure. His tank is cleaned on a regular basis. I've tried Fish Mox Amoxicillin thinking it was a bacterial infection. And the Cappatta leaves ~ which he loves to play with. It seems the rips and tears are getting worse! There's no blood or sign of infection. I don't know what's causing it. Bacteria? Stress? Is he doing it to himself? How can I help him? Thought to ask your advice first. Cringing at the thought of asking advice on Facebook 😩. My boys are very special to me ~ don't want to "experiment" on them with well meaning (bad) advice. Thank you! 🦋

@@BlueAquaticss He's about 1 year to 1 1/2 years old. Also, the tissue doesn't look "eaten". The tail looks like it's being torn or ripped. There's nothing sharp in his tank.
