PLEASE explain WHAT you have inserted into the Ink tubes. 4 have some sort of check valve while the MAG and Yellow seems that you stuck in there what ever was laying around? ALSO were you successful in CLEANING the PRINTHEAD? Do you have a part number for a NEW PRINTHEAD and from where to get one

I had clogs on both my whites so I took it apart and cleaned and wet capped under the dampers got everything cleaned and smooth and put back together now I'm not getting any ink at all and I only took off and cleaned the white cartridges. What model of damper is tjis to order replacement... My black ink i cant for the life of me fix when i think i do i dont still stuck... Also what dose the bottom of bampers look like... I ask because on the bottom of mine its wide open all ink falls out noting no plug to hold it in... And while trying to find new ones they all have a plug... How do you know if your printer head is not working too please and thank you 🙂

Yeah you might need to clean the dampers, they tend to soak up any loose ink in the head.

I need your expertise. I took out the printhead to check it put the dampers back in which are mostly empty. Now it is not printing any ink at all. I have the Epson ET 8550 the ink dampers on them have the huge hole in the bottom of them so you can’t siphon ink through them. Any ideas on how to prime the dampers, someone online said to remove the waste tank and put a hose and syringe on the little outpost but all that does is suction air no ink….. assuming that the dampers need to be primed somehow

Its doesn't matter where the inks are. Adjust your rip settings to match your ink tanks

When you run the power clean, it will pull ink into the head, that usually does it.

My ink was clogged(white only), so removed the printhead to clean it and put everything back to normal, did a nozzle check, now there is absolutely no ink coming out (no color no white), nothing wrong with the maintenance box either, i'm getting white pages, any suggestions on what to do next

I’ve taken my whole printer apart more than once cleaned the entire print head and it’s still printing blank pages. Black and maginta are coming thru but none of the other ones are. I’ve sucked the ink out and refilled. Not sure what else to do

Hello did any of you all actually removed the paper width sensor? and did it make a difference on printing the whole images and not cutting it. my 8550 was working fine for about 2 weeks and then i start printing cut images, never got a fixed... tried the tape, correction ink, markers, etc and not now start getting paper jam error or nothing printing.

I see you work on this printer a lot.. have you ever found the sensor that detracts the paper.when it is feed through . I was told it was in the print head .. and that when it will not see the paper you can just go in and clean the sensor

I have tested the sensors. the sensor the underneath the printhead is for the printhead to detect the length of the printer. The PE sensor is the one that detects film.

I did this an it’s still printing out the same. It like skips a bunch of lines. It just leave blank lines across everything . Idk what else to do 😩. Not sure if I even cleaned the print head correctly lol. But I tried my best.

I'm not sure what you mean by skipped lines, if your nozzle check is missing lines it could because the head is clogged, the capping station or wiper blade being dirty could also be the cause for missing lines. Also after removing the printhead, run a power clean to push ink back into the dampers and printhead

Also I found some like rubber particles all around the head like something rubber may have fallen apart it was broken into little shreds.

if you put your hand and seal the the damper ink input ink wont flow out of the damper output, it will get trapped due to vaccum

You have options, and this is one of them. ANY printer, even if using regular inkjet ink is going to require maintenance and part replacemet. Nobody is going to force you to do an Epson ET 8550 conversion. You could spend $15k on an actual DTF printer. Enjoy which ever option you chose/choose
