For anyone wondering. It is easy to convert this printer into a sublimation printer if it’s brand new, out of the box, with no ink already installed. There are sublimation inks you can get specifically for this printer. They come in the same type of bottles Epson provides so then you can fill the tanks as normal. If you bought sublimation inks that didn’t come in those Epson type bottles - Just dump out the Epson inks from the OEM bottles that came with your printer. Wash the bottles good. Wait until it’s fully dry. Then pour the sublimation inks into those bottle and fill the tanks as normal. No need to use syringes. If you already have this printer filled with non sublimation ink and want to convert it into a sublimation printer. - That’s where it’s a bit more difficult because you’d have to do an ink flush. Tedious, but do-able. Hope that helps someone.

Photo evaluation should be on photo paper. Even a photo printer will look washed out on plain paper.

I keep my printer, an ET-7750 completely covered with a thin plastic sheet, the printer operates perfectly with the cover on. No dust issues.

This printer can print on cardstock very well..always choose the "Presentation Matte Paper" option in print dialog options. It will take much longer to print, but the quality is great.

What type of card stock are you using? I’m trying to use 65 lb and it just won’t take it. I literally forced it to be grabbed by the rollers the first time I tried it… So I looked it up only to find it can’t handle anything past 27lbs???? So confused how ppl are making this work 😭😭😭

Presentation Matte Paper I found is the best paper to print colors and images on, and Epson has some pretty good bright white pro paper. I needed good matte paper for pin back buttons as well as stickers so this printer works great

Thank you Epson! This is by far one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have had several printers over the years and I can't imagine the money I have spent on those little ink carts. I decided to try the Epson 2720 Eco tank which was just a little more expensive, but I am here to tell you I have had this amazing printer for over a year and I AM STILL USING THE SAME INK. My black is around 60%, Color 80%. I print and print and print...LOVE this printer!!! Thank you Epson! Best printer ever, I will never buy anything else, highly recommended! Edit: Also want to mention that the photo quality is amazing and sharp. I took a photo of roses close up and when I printed it out, it looked like a high quality post card. It was beautiful!

I just printed on stampin' up 80 lb cardstock and it printed just fine. That is really the heaviest I usually ever print so it'll do at least that much. ☺️

The streaking problems might be going into the options in the software, and setting the quality to photo (keep in mind that you should always use the correct paper as well). Try Epson Matte, and best quality settings. Try this please, and let me know if it worked. I'm looking to buy an ecotank myself as well.

This was at the top of my list to buy as I'm a poor, struggling nursing student. Looks like this'll meet my budget and handle my simple school needs. Hello Tom! my brother has an Epson Printer/Scanner ET-2720. He paid a fair amount of money for it and quickly became disgruntled with the main User interface, in that it didn't have a "Professional Mode" software wise like his much older model did have. It was almost as though Epson really pushed through this very basic sub-standard UI for their much newer model. Is there a way to over-come this issue Tom?!

I use my printer for crafting as well as business... if it won't print on lightweight card stock it's not a good choice...BUT you also answered another question I had and the reason I was looking for a new printer... You can scan wirelessly, you just need Epson's scanning software for your Computer to become detectable to the printer. Also I guess Epson thought it out, but in the windows driver installation (because you need drivers for everything in windows, YUPPIE ) you have an option to connect the printer with a USB cable temporally and enter the WIFI password through your computer.

110lb cardstock does not print on this printer. Also, I can't get this printer to print the colors correctly on glossy paper when I print on glossy paper. I have to choose matte for the colors to be close. Otherwise, they print extremely dark. A darker red prints as a dark purple, etc. It drives me crazy. Is there a way to keep the printer from asking me if the printer paper setting is correct before every single print? Defeats the purpose of wireless printing for me if I have to go in the room with the printer and click through prompts before every print lol.

To scan wirelessly, you need to download the Epson scan utility on your computer then it should should work

I use mine for sublimation, filling the tanks with ink is super easy. Done the same way as regular ink with Cosmos Ink bottles.

So the main thing with an ecotank printer is it either needs to be regular copy paper ink or sublimation ink, it can not be both. So when you buy a brand new Ecotank and put sublimation ink in it that's what it's going to be is a sublimation printer for its life. Mixing the standard epson ink and sublimation inks will ruin the printer.

Then lines you see are due to the fast feeding. If you set it to quality, it will feed slower and wont see the overlap. I have a 4550t. Wife is having issues with vellum on it. It was printing fine no lines now its just instant "jam" won't feed on anything but the "normal" quality that caused those head overlap issues you saw.

Anyone know why the 2720 would randomly quit printing teal? All other colors work great (yellow, green, blue, red, black, etc.) except teals come put blue not greenish/blue. She uses it for sublimation and has had no issues for 3 months except randomly yesterday. We did all of the cleanings like nozel, head, and power. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You should do another test for photo after using a photo editing program like photoshop to deepen the colors and contrast to enrich the printer output and save the settings for future prints.

My question is this - I am a card maker and am looking to obviously print patterned backgound and images but have been advised to use a certain paper for better quality printing............so is this something you have done also or is the paper you used 'normal' copy paper?

I haven’t tested printing on thicker stock paper, but have heard it can print on slightly thicker than regular printer paper. I’m sure if you talked to Epson’s customer service, they would be better suited to advise you. Hope that helps. 🙏🏻

My biggest issue I’m having is trying to make stickers with very basic colors. You can obviously see little dots all over the image because it uses a lot of solid colors. No idea if I need to change the settings or if it’s just the printer quality

If you print as photo itll be bad even at high resolution - find a good photo app or print from edit app like microsoft word or drawing up. They send better signals to printer snd usually are more colorfull

I don't know if you know or try it, but can it take different ink bottles numbers? Also I heard that the print pad that suppose to absorb the excive amount of ink, gets filled and needs to be replaced it will come up with an errors message and the printer will become useless even if you replace the ink pad in a different model. Just to let you know. Hopefully this one doesn't do it.

Hi Tom, i bought this Printer and noticed the scanning quality is poor. If it was washed out a bit i wouldn't mind. But it gives somehow bit bluish color to it. Let's if i scan a document the white paper is somewhat bluish. ( On my mobile too. ) Any idea how to fix it. Thanks.

I never noticed that,... but if you have any post production editing software, all it would taker is readjusting white balance.... i don't think there's anything built into the machine itself.... maybe in "Scan" on your computer? Hope that helps.

Tom must've been confused; as discussed in another comment here, this printer can scan wirelessly, you just need to download the Epson scan utility on your computer then it should should work (or, on Mac, I guess there's a "Scanner" tab you just need to click on)

Quite a few people int he comments have recommended various printer papers for various projects. I'm personally a fan of matte, but it's all personal preference... scroll the comments and definitely check out recommendations from other users. :) Thanks for the comment!

Photo paper gives the best quality and looks like photos from a lab, gloss or satin or matt whatever you like, and generic non epson papers are usually fine too. Use the photo paper setting in the driver as that makes the printer squirt more ink onto the paper giving bolder colours, which the photo paper can soak up unlike cheap copier paper. For something cheaper you can look for a paper that is coated, usually the packaging says something like bright white coated, sometimes the brand of coating is something like colour-lok, its often sold in packs of 100 to 250 sheets. Slightly thicker than copier paper at about 100 to 200gsm it has a nice surface for printing on. The higher the gsm the better the quality feel to it, but make sure its not to thick for your printer. I would think 120-150gsm would be a good starting point. (we use grams per square metre here in the UK but I'm sure you can convert to US with google)

I literally just Converted my Epson ET 2720 yesterday what I did was take the entire lid off of the ink that came with my printer rinsed it off allow it to dry very well put it in the printer how you normally would and then allowed my sub ink to drip in that head. Why did I do it this way it was the easiest for me and because the supplier who sent the sub link did not send the syringes or nozzles

Hi. Nice Vide. But printing photos on regular paper make colors washed out. So would be nice to see it print on photo paper, and also those papers that have regular photo size, and nice to know if it can print all way out to edge. Also compare photos with standard quality that i assume are the default setting, also see difference on photo paper at max quality. guessing the lines will dissapear. Also is it only USB and WiFi? no Rj45 lan connector?!

Yes, because at that point your phone is technically a wifi signal. There's also a few other direct ways (including google direct) that you can print from.

So far, I’m very impressed with the ET-2720. It was amazingly easy to set up-initializing and WiFi. It’s surprising just how fast it prints, and how quiet it is in quiet mode. Why they don’t put it as a default in quiet mode is beyond me-I don’t think it makes a difference. The small display size really doesn’t bother me a bit. I’ve yet to print a photo, or scan, and I’ll come back with an update. Note for new users: be sure to download the app.

Loved this printer and now if there's an image on a document, it's printing the entire picture in black. Another example, if it's a copied excel table, it prints the entire image in black as well. The help desk wants me to run all the maintenance. Have you heard of this problem or have any suggestions?

On my old epson printer there is a slider in the drivers settings to adjust print density, how much ink is applied. You have to have paper that can soak up the ink if you set it higher ie thicker paper, thin paper will wrinkle and get wet, the photo paper setting automatically sets the print density to high.

This is only for day to day use it can print "5 4" photos they look fine any think over that you have to get a photo printer. also you printing on paper for photos you need photo paper you will see a difference

Mine won’t print in color. All ink wells are full. Black is fine. Ran a maintenance test.

Really appreciate your review on this product. But I’m struggling why you are scanning a printed photo on plain paper, technically creating a second generation photo from that. Comparing quality with that second print doesn’t make sense. Working in photo labs, that isn’t something we would ever do and I’m not understanding the purpose. But thanks for sharing!

I'm having similar problems with plain paper it prints ok with sticky back paper it has lines across , i changed paper settings to photo matte , no lines but very dark print , don't know what to do next

For plain paper the photos are decent. I am definately planning on purchasinbg one of these. The scanning is definately off, but I plan to use it 100 percent for printing purposes. I already have a good all in one for scanning and faxing, so the scanning would not be needed for this one. I wish they would make one for only one purpose, which is printing, which would make it potentially cost less. That is all I would need it for.

Set this up and all it's doing is printing blank pages. No idea how to fix, searched epson site, did nozzle check and head cleaning a few times and can't get ink to come out. You hear it "printing" but pages keep coming out blank. Need help!

i have tried to print a pdf both sides of the page for a booklet, side binded. I found there was no way to get it to print a full page from this pdf for double sided, it only makes those half page things that make you fold the pages in half to make a small booklet. any ides to get a douible sided print, full page from a pdf? just try it on the first 6 pages or so and you will see what I mean. No matter what it shows you in the preview, it onl y prints that small half page. thanks

All you have to do to use the ET 2760 as a sublimation printer is instead of using the ink that comes with the printer only use sublimation ink

Using icc Profiles the ET series like 2720 are printing even better photos. You can try with Red River profiles for Ecotanks. I print foto's from photoshop and you have good color control in combination with the profiles.

Could you tell me how to use the borderless option? I find the borderless options in settings but is off and I cannot find any option to turn it on. I did find the option to mark Remove white borders . I checked the box but that did not get rid of white borders. Please help!

Can I please ask for some advice? When I print 8.5x11 paper, it doesn't give me to option to print borderless and it seems to shrink my image even if I leave blank space for the border. How can I prevent it from shrinking my image?

So, "borderless" is a printing software feature, not a printer feature. Look for it as an option whatever program/window you're printing from. Hope that helps.
