I jut picked one up at Staples on sale for $200 and I have to say this printer is built like a Work Horse. It weighs 40.8 Lbs, and is a solid build. Having 2 paper cartridges is a nice feature usually only found on expensive printers. Set up with the built in display was painless and quick. Using it for CAD drawings on 13 x 19 and it's super fast with sharp thin lines. Well done Epson.

Wish I could say the same. I bought one a week ago, and my first print had some white lines across the print. what setting do you have yours on? Maybe I got a bad one? So then I picked up an HP 7740 and the print was a bit better, but with some lines still? could it be the settings on my computer?

Sorry to hear that. This is not good for business. This can be very frustrating and time consuming. this should not happen to a less than a year old printer. Did you use it everyday so the heads don't get clogged?

Yes it is very frustrating ! I don't feel like spending two hours on the phone with some well meaning guy from India who is responsible for supporting all 5,356 Epson printer models, tell me to buy new cartridges for 1/2 the price of the printer, and see if that works. If it wasn't so heavy I would have taken it back already. Not sure if your "print every day" was a joke ? but I am sure having to in order to prevent clogging is a joke. My heads test clean, but if i print ANYTHING in color I get .070 thick bands that repeat every .4" of blanked outish print

No joke. but hopefully you got the warranty from the store you bought it from. I returned mine within that week of purchase. And you are right, by calling the "support team", all they're going to say is to buy new ink.

0:24 what kind of paper is that? it's not photo paper because you can't "touch" photo paper without getting your finger prints all over it (also it's coated, which is not what I want). what's shown here is almost like a poster paper. where can i get the exact paper that's being used here?

I bought this about 5 months ago. Barely got out of the initial start up cartridges, and put new genuine Epson cartridges in. After a few prints the printer stopped printing cyan, and now it only prints yellow. The scanner works great, but the printer function not so well.

I have three of these printers. Two of them are useless now due to error codes that won't go away. One has error 000041 and the other has error 031008. I've been through all of the "troubleshooting" steps that were suggested but nothing has fixed them. This is very frustrating when you have work to get done but can't due to these issues!!

This isn't a best place for asking the questions like this. Bees can't be against honey)) U need to search an information on a forums on sublimation theme. As for me, i use Epson l1300 more than 3 years for printing sublimation, and everything is ok

You might want to look at Epson C88+. I have been using it for a month now and it works fine. Its also not too expensive, but high quality images from my experience.

When you click print from your computer- you choose which location you want it to print from. Cassette A, Cassette B or Rear Tray

@@johannalesley9532 It doesn't give me the option to pick which cassette. Currently it keeps saying there is no paper in cassette (which there is) and won't use cassette 2 for alternate printing. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I might have to disagree with the "print shop quality" claim. If you use VERY high-end glossy photo paper it's pretty decent, but I've seen better from other printers. In terms of a general office printer though (printing documents, emails, CAD drawings, etc) it's a very good printer.

If you printed a lot of stuff, then that would explain why the ink is gone. It comes with the standard ink cartridges. The XL ink cartridges are better.

The first time you set up a printer and it loads up the ink into the system, it uses a chunk of the ink to do that. So the cartridges that come with it won't last as long as future refills. But as someone else said, using the XL cartridges is better, too.

There's no problem, it's just the ink container is microscopic, so you can empty you wallet every few prints.

The name of paper usually never matters. What matters is the weight of the paper. I print on 80 lb Matte Paper with this printer and I can print double sided.

Epson America No, it can only scan up to 11x17 and print up to 13x19. It can’t even print a true borderless photo.

You have to put the 11x17 paper in one of the trays. Tray 2 can’t print double sided. Take out Tray 1, expand the tray to fit the paper, and put it back into the paper. Make sure Tray 1 has the correct paper setting.

The cost of the I k makes this impractical for more than 100 pages per month. It is not a serious business printer. I would say it is in “rip off” territory. I don’t mind paying a little more for ink when the printer is cheap. But these prices are just plain gouging.

@@mactastic144, want to use it for envelopes. So far, Epson support hasn't figured it out. We've just been putting envelopes in tray 1. Not a huge deal but definitely not right. Have not tried to run an 8.5x11 sheet through it. That may work. Any ideas for me to try? Thanks!

tomthomsen11 Is it up-to-date? There aren’t settings for envolopes on the printer, but when you print, you have to set the correct settings for printing on the envolope. This usually means size.

@@mactastic144 Up to date on firmware and drivers. When I go to print, I select the rear paper slot and size #10 envelope. It prints to tray 1 on 8.5x11. Rear slot is selected and size selected specifically. we end up loading the envelope in tray 1as a workaround. We shouldn't have to do that. Sure would be cool to have it working correctly. Thank you for your help. By the way, I have two of these printers. Same situation with both of them (one's at home and one at the office).
