I go through Testing different amounts of RAM channels to see if it makes a large performance difference or not. Results are kind of interesting.

Hi can you give a list of the parts in the description? I'm looking to build a similar rig but still can't figure out the parts..thank you so much!

What Cooler are you using for that SP5 monster? Also whats the difference between 100-000000475-15 and the 100-000000894-04? would this be the base clock speeds? Thanks for making this video its awesome to see epyc CPU mining.

Can you adjust memory timings at all in the BIOS? Also were your memory sticks single rank or dual rank?

Which Windows OS are you running this on?

I almost bought this but opted to not get the ES for a multitude of reasons. Getting the proper 9654 and only paying $700 just made more sense
@crazykkid20004 ай бұрын
So how much are you getting a proper 9654 for?
@Prosper854 ай бұрын
@crazykkid2000 I got the CPU for $3281 USD. But there are some strong arguments for spending more on the CPU than opting for the ES. I actually noted that the ES you have runs incredibly well and i have a hunch that the hardware limited clock speed might actually be optimal for RandomX. The downside however is the fact that with ES resell value is harder and also the chip itself is wayyyy more tempermental than the final product. So there is substantially more risk in getting that "cheaper" ES that realistically isn't cheap if it were to die before ROI. Also you may have compatibility issues with later bios updates and drivers in the future. That being said it IS an awesome chip none the less and I truly hope that for you it pays off. I also opted for the SuperMicro Watercooler option which is pricey but i have had one on a 7742 build before and they do run noticeably cooler and DEADSILENT.

@Prosper85 that's awesome! Yea I haven't had any issues with the ES so far, but I payed less than half of that for them per chip. If I was going to do more mining rigs I'll end up doing 7702s, real production chips.

Quick question , are you using dual PSU's on the supermicro boards or just the 1? And how many watt PSU(S) are you using?

Honestly, it just uncharted territory, a big investment to not know what you are going to get. I can't find any kind of info for any kind of assumptions if it is worth it or not. I'm definitely open to donations though lol

Hi, not trolling… isn’t the cost per hash at least 2x that of a 3900x? Don’t get me wrong, it’s an impressive processor but not sure it makes financial sense. Though I’m assuming you bought this only for mining.
@crazykkid20005 ай бұрын
It all depends on how much you find them for, I never even thought it was possible so I never looked I to it, until one day i randomly did. But I will tell you if you look into it. You would be surprised on how reasonable it can be. I mean they are still expensive tho for an entire rig. If cpu mining goes belly up, I'll just end up having a really powerful home server cluster lol

How about the 7702 dual random x hash rate? What would you say would be a good price target for that setup?
