Lyrics:
Don't react when I tell you
And don't react when I tell you
That bright lights mean nothing to you
Cause no one would know
The sound of a ghost
And I might be something to you
Beyond beautiful
Is the sound of a ghost
Can we lose our minds
And call it love for the last time?
My darling, never rest
Until the darker gets
The best of all we had
Can the cold carry on?
When the light means nothing to you;
Then no one would know
The sound of a ghost
And I might be perfect with you
But no one would know
So tell me, tell me
Have you ever really danced on the edge
Is something still scaring you?
Have you ever really danced on the edge
The count of three is up
Have you ever really danced on the edge
Alright then tell me so
Have you ever really danced on the edge
Just hold my hand and jump
And bright lights mean nothing to you
Cause no one would know
The sound of a ghost
Oh, no one would know
The sound of a ghost

I don't understand how they were able to make something so unique and unforgettable. It's not a normal rock song, it's more complex than that. Still one of my top 10 songs of all time.

I remember listening to this and crying because the guy I loved just couldn’t allow himself to be loved. We were absolute best friends. But also best friends who were in love and slept together. I posted “have you ever really danced on the edge? Is something still scaring you?” on facebook and he liked the post (this was before reactions bc omg I’m getting old). He then posted saying something like “is being with someone you love worth risking losing them?” The answer was yes it was. We cycled around in circles but also just really loved each other. He told me he was scared. I mean, so was I. He was the only person that I was elated to be with. I felt so lucky to be his girl. He made me feel whole, like we were two halves joined to be one. I can’t honestly properly fathom how deep our connection was. But it was a once in a lifetime type of love. Well, he passed away almost 6 years ago and lord do I miss him. Life is so bland with him gone. I really don’t know how or if I’m gonna survive decades of the pain. You’d think time would make it easier. It doesn’t. It only makes thing harder.

I’m 25 now and this song hurts so much more than it ever did when I was 16 because it’s more relevant than before. When they said “have you ever really danced on the edge?” gave me chills

i feel like this album was their most mature album, I was 15 at the time I first heard this album and I felt like it was music for older people cause of the subject and topics and just the musical structure itself. I wish they could make an album like this again. Collide with the sky and following ones felt more like they started making music that catered to their younger audience and what other bands of the same genre were doing at the time.

I totally feel the same way! I couldn't really get into these songs when i first found PTV at 14, so I resonated more with collide with the sky songs. Even some selfish machines songs just weren't what I liked to listen to. Now I'm revisiting pierce the veil 8 years later and a flair for the dramatic is my favorite album beacause it's so....just raw. Pure, raw, musical emotion. I still love collide with the sky though.

¿Alguna vez has bailado al límite?
