Might be a different reason but I remember a while back she explained that caramel had shavings instead of straw because she'd eat the straw. Again could be something different though :)

Could be because he eats the straw, I tried to covert my new forest pony to straw a few weeks ago. I gave her a massive straw bed and by the next morning she had eaten the whole lot. 😵 She was poorly for the rest of that day, never again will she get straw!
