Zoey, this video is fantastic. Especially discussing strengths and weaknesses. Something I’ve seen while watching you ride many horses IS your adaptability, which is a key strength in a great trainer. You read horses so well, even if it takes a bit. You have an open mind, heart, hand and seat, and I think the horses you ride definitely appreciate that. Before I broke my back I was working exclusively with OTTBs in rehab from the track to become either lesson/show/companion horses and getting to know them with an open heart is the biggest, most important part. Thank you for being so open with yourself, it really helps us all, out of the saddle too.

I asked this on instagram but obviously it got lost in all of them lol: What is your definition of a “good rider”? I feel like the concept of being a good rider gets lost sometimes with everyone.

If it is still on her story, there is something on @sdequus on Instagram that is very informational about the same exact question!!

I thought The nice big AQHA/ANDALUSIAN cross would make nice hunter/jumpers. I am in 3rd generation and the are naturals. I am no longer able to ride and need to find a market for these youngsters. Any suggestions.

I am currently trying to train my thoroughbred to jump, she hasn’t figured it out yet and just trots over the cross polls. How did u teach Troy to jump with all four feet?

I know u just answered a lot of questions but I’m a student in slo and have a restaurant job. Do you think it was a smart idea to buy Roman at 19 or looking back would you have waited. And what do you recommend for me along with probably others.... (also graduated early and started college at 17!)

Love you Vloggs!! As we have a OTTB since he was 2 after he raced 4 times. ( He was shut down , but woke up after a month owning him) We let him develop till he was 3 then we rebacked him. Now the saddle does not fit. He is quite the personality and very smart now 6. I have a question about saddle fitting he hit 5+ and he suddenly got these huge shoulders. So if we get a saddle to fit his whithers it does not fit his shoulders as we have been in lock down we have not ridden him as we cannot get a saddle fitter out to help. As he has bronked.. His back was checked before lock down by a vet and he had a soft tissue massage. We have kept the ground work up. I noticed you put 1/2 pads on with a saddle pad is this normal for OTTB's. Also is it normal for a horse to go and jump over poles all by himself.
@kippen644 жыл бұрын
A good saddle fitter is what you need. There's a lot of horses with that conformation.
@helgaroberts77694 жыл бұрын
Like the person said above, you need a saddle fitter. Some are doing it online if there is not one in your area willing to come out at this time. I’m sure you wouldn’t want your horse in pain at all so I would look into that. On to the half pad question, this is a semi controversial topic. But the saddle fitter that I use alway told me that a half pad is used at all times because even if the saddle is custom you want a shock absorber. Hope this helps!!
