It's a good cover, you have the sequencer right many don't. I sampled it on a Commodore 64 in the 80's, played it in SloMo and have played it right since :D And the phaser strings at starting at 3:26 are correct, no one else made this right except you, me and Jarre :D

Hi from Spain, nice sound, i'm preparing some jarre's covers only with analog stuff , your cover is very good emulating old synths, the most important thing is to recreate the jarre's atmosphere and your cover is powerfull, GOOD WORK

I agree, some excellent versions but the effects are limited. There is free VSTi plugin called Cynthia that emulates EMS SynthiA. There is a preset called 'singing computer' that sounds quite similar. It can be edited slightly to sound like the main effect used on the Oxygene and Equinoxe albums. It is one of the most difficult plugins that I've used but it makes some wild sounds!

What synth used JMJ to make the robot sound, was it ARP2600? I made a patch with Arturia ARP2600 V very close to the original.

I don't know. Indeed the sound is easy to do with a lot a synths : saw tooth with resonance, modulated by vélocity . The most difficult is to play the good notes and velocities.

Hello! Thanks for your comments. Yes all the sounds are played by the PA2X. Some FX are sampled from the Roland D110, but played by the PA2X. They are in the PA sample RAM, auto-loaded each time I turn on the keyboard.

Hi! Effects sounds (laser type) are made using my old Roland D-110 samples. The "Robot voice" sound is a simple saw tooth wave, with resonance on the VCF. I trigged the filter opening with the key velocity. I spent hours to recognize the exact filter opening, and octave, from each note. The event edit of cubase was essential to record the exact velocity, producing the exact filter opening.

Unfortunately, in spite of a long use of synthesizers, I never guessed how JMJ did the FX's in equinoxe 4. And I never eared cover that reached the same result. I have mixed two samples of the D-110 to get what your ear in my cover. But it's far away from JMJ FX.

Very nice cover! How did you sinthesize the fx sounds?

Hi, thank you! I didn't completely synthesize them. The sound is a mix of two "Loops" issued from the Roland D-110 ROM. I put them in the PA Ram and made a "user sound" with them. I use a big amount of pitch bendind to create this FX. At 2'48" I made a sequence to recreate the "Robot sound". It's a Saw wave with resonance. In the original song the filter is randomly modulated very fast. It takes me a while to recreate this, using the velocity as a filter trigger. The filter follows exactly the original filtering pattern.

J'utilise un arrangeur. -La mélodie n'a aucune influence sur l'accompagnement. en revanche le type d'accord joué à la main gauche peut, selon ma programmation, entrainer des modifications importantes de l'accompagnement. -En plus je dispose de quatre "variations" (on me voit sélectionner l'une ou l'autre avec la main gauche) permettant de varier beaucoup l'accompagnement. A+
