Nice! I just grabbed a Biocube29 used yesterday. After getting my feet wet again in saltwater with the Fluval (after 7+ years away) I'm feeling the addiction again so I snatched The Biocube off of craigslist! I'm WOWED about your not having wave makers & your corals look awesome! I haven't done anything yet still deciding where in my office this thing is gonna go.I may have to try that return attachment & see how it works. Thanks for the vid! Keep em coming.

So using the deflector gives you enough oxenagation? My ph has been around 7.8 to 7.9 and couldnt figure out why my fish died. Thought it was ph being low. My new fish seemed to be doing the same thing as my last and I was reading I needed better flow and a powerhead directed towards top of water would give more oxygen to the water. My aquar clear 30 is oversized for my 10 gallon so creates quite a bit of flow. After I plugged in my powerhead that I had not put to use yet since I have no corals. My fish got better! Seems he was losing loor and going from top to then laying on bottom. Do you have a lot of current on top of water? I am thinking of upgrading to this. Should have gotten one to begin with! I just like a small tank in my kitchen but might have 2!Your tank is beautiful! Did it take long for corals to fill tank in? Did you start from frags?

Purigen can be recharged and reused! I’d definitely consider doing that instead of replacing. I’ve been doing it for years with 0 problems. I maybe replace my Purigen once a year.

So nice to see a female reefer. Not many of us os so it seems on youtube. I actually havnt begun yet but after adopting and homing my friends betta that was in a bowl I got hooked on fish! haha. I was very interested in starting a coral reef system and someone is selling a biocube for 150.00 and hoping to talk down to 100.oo I am a good hagler! lol My thoughts were to start with a 5 gallon fluval edge! I have seen so many on youtube. I thoguht I would start small to see how I do and one for 20 bucks on facebook! Also it would give coral frags a change to grow and not look so stupid in a larger tank! I know I would need to change water frequently and all as I would just be using a wavemaker and regular filtration, no skimmers and all, but since seeing this biocube and having a small space in my family room, it just makes more sense but I thought being they are called biocube that it came with everything you need, like protein skimmer and sump and whatever else is required. So I would have to buy all this stuff as well? If so I dont get why it is called a biocube. Thanks for any advice for a beginner and not having a lot of space as well. Its a shame because really want a yellow tang! lol

There was a guy on ebay about 10 years ago who was selling a filter tray that that had reusable filters, very durable material, And it was basically a drip tray that would not clog ever for a long time and if it did ever clog it had a built-in overflow which was also used as the handle to remove it with so you're wet dry bacteria filter media would never get too dry even if it clogged up and overflowed back into the tank it wouldn't go back into the tank it would go through the handle instead it was a very amazing product that would also work with this filter basket as the water director, he had them for 8, 14 and 29 gallon biocubes, think his name was biocubeguy, I wrote him a message about buying some more and he hasn't sold them in a while but he is about to start selling them again, he even had a thank you card in the packaging offering for you to upload your own personal video to KZbin demonstrating the product and if you sent the link to him proving that he would mail you extra replacement pads

Euphyllias seem to hate moderate to high flow I have the same problem with my tank(nuvo 20). However i do love the higher to moderate flow because it pushes all the undissolved organically back into my sump area where my protein skimmer skims it out. Moderate to high flow also allows me to have more co2 and o2 exchange at the surface..hey if they look good and are happy do what ever works...happy reefing👍🏾

Hello I love your fish tank just a question did you have to replace the light in the top of your nano cube hood? My friend has one just like yours and he wants to get anemones.

Another great video! Was going to ask you about flow in your tank as it seemed super low in your previous video. The LPS definitely seem to love it that way. I like the little split screen video thingy of you talking when showing your tank, nice touch!

Thanks so much! I always get asked that actually, my corals are quite strange. I think my pump is quite strong so it seems to be enough for them.

I have just turned my powerhead off in my tank and just got flow coming from the return pump, my torch coral is so much happier and fully open now. Like you have shown the corals soon tell you if they are not happy.

Aw I’m so glad this helped you! I don’t have this tank setup anymore cause after moving to my new tank I didn’t want to care for two of em, but I still have the fishies - yellow watchman goby and clown pairs. I think I had a six line in the Biocube too, but it got mean :(

Sorry had to reply to myself I forgot to mention that you can make your middle chamber a solid refugium. Clog the lower hole and let it over flow after drilling holes on the top of the second chamber. You can then use your skimmer in the middle chamber no problem water level stays constant. As well you may want to grow algae in your refugium. I'm truly happy you suggested the delflector really makes a difference.

Can you show how your pump is set up. I just got a cube (used) and want to get the MJ 1200 but no one is showing how they are mounted. Your tank looks great and that head attachment looks intetesting. Thank you.

How much of the pur Chem do you use in your tank
@QueenofReef5 жыл бұрын
Brad Larson 1 of the pre-packaged pouches of Purigen and the smallest bottle of chem pure elite! I know it’s not the most financially savvy way of doing it, but it’s convenient having it all premeasured for my nanos and I sure do love convenience 😂
