You might use a ratchet strap to hold the back end against the trailer, and snug up the winch line a bit. As it is, one pothole could send it ... over tea kettle, and then you'd be dragging it alongside the trailer.

As one who has moved heavy equipment I see no problem with using the wench on the four wheeler to secure the front of it but I think I'd throw a rachet strap on the back somehow, maybe under the seat and pull both ends to the rear of the tailer. Or go through that 'D' ring at the rear of the seat to the back of the trailer. Have the wench and the strap pulling against each other.

One of the things I like about Nathan is the casual availability he maintains of all kinds of equipment, implements, and tools. I am kind of surprised that Dewalt or one of the tool brands does not offer him a long term sponsorship. As well as Wood Mizer. The man has 3 tractors from TYM. Add rhem to the list of potential sponsors. His videos are seen all over this country. Dewalt, Wood Mizer, and TYM want to sell all over this country. Who else make such a convincing argument for sponsorship for these brands on KZbin? Product Managers need to step up. He is down to earth, hard working, and skilled.

That was some nice eastern red cedar, Nathan. To my untrained eye the grain looked even nicer than the last one you had sawn. Lots of little details. Helping the family out with things that need to be done is always good. That last log loaded on the trailer seemed to have quite the cracks going on that end. All the best to you and the family, mate. Cheers.

Nathan, New to your channel a couple months ago. Love the videos. Keep it up. As to your anchoring the 4 wheeler in the trailer with just that winch cable-BAD. If you were to stop quick or God forbid hit something, that 4 wheeler would probably be flying over your head. you should have a minimum of 2 ratchet straps on that thing pulling in opposite directions. The straps should be rated for more than the weight of the load. That's Federal law.

99 percent of the cedar trees in south Mississippi are in yards and 99 percent has nails and screws in them. No sawyer will cut them unless you buy the blades I can't blame them. The Bradford pears look good but by the time they get that size here a hurricane destroys them. Keep up the good work

You may want to consider crossing the safety chains. If the hitch fails, it'll rest on the chains. In fact, someone told me it was state law. Of course I would have to see that in writing before I made that claim.

Hey Nathan - Truckers (I'm not but do trailer often) will tell you that you tie down for the stop. In other words, plan on hitting something that stops you quick and what will happen to the load - 4 wheeler will end up in the bed of you truck, or worse. Just what I have learned. Winch tie down not ideal but will work for keeping the machine from moving back.

Biggest problem with the winch is shock load. The hook, cable, & gearbox are designed for slow steady loads, not shock loads. Load straps are a better option. Even the cheap Harbor Freight ones. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Make new electrolyte Simmer 3 cups of TAP WATER, and add 1 cup of EPSOM SALT..dissolve good.. put into 4 cup measuring cup pour into each cell of the battery and put battery on slow 2A charge over night and check charge of battery..if it's 12v or more reinstall it back 4 wheel vehicle and run it a while if not 12V then up the charge to 10A and charge 2 more hours! This can save ya $100. or more BUCKS. Now to neutralize old acid!! Just using baking Soda pour into acid till it stops fizzing. In Chemistry Dilution is the solution!! Get a Big plastic Bucket pour in and add more water add continue adding baking Soda. till it fizzing stops. HOPE THIS HELPS. Where to pour it dump it on your burn pile!

I haul my Honda the same way pretty much but I put an eye bolt in the trailer tongue and I hook my winch to it. Then I operate the winch to pull the four wheeler snug against the front rail of the trailer bed, lock the brakes and leave it in gear. I noticed yours rocked back while in transit and those rail edges can cut and crimp your winch cable. Great video and I’m lovin that cedar!!👍

Whenever I transport a vehicle, light or heavy, my biggest fear is someone pulling out in front of me or hitting me head on, causing the load to break free and come flying into the cab from behind me. I also watched a video years ago of a man with a riding mower on his trailer with four one inch ratchet straps holding it down. He fell asleep or had a medical incident and the person videoing was driving in the right lane honking his horn at the man was in the left lane. The man towing the trailer drifted left and into the median and hit the turnaround between the two sets of roadways. He had been driving in the middle of the median in the low area and as he drove up and over the turnaround, when the trailer tires hit the pavement, the trailer became airborne and all four of the ratchet straps broke. When I have a car on my trailer, I have a strap on each wheel to the trailer, normally I have four chains/binders in an X under the vehicle from the axles to the trailer, but on low cars I do two from the front of the trailer X to the font frame, and again on the back of the trailer X to the back frame. Last but least I have two heavy chain/binders from the back of the trailer straight to the rear axles, these two is just to make sure the vehicle does not come through the cab of the truck. I know it might be overkill, but when I transported our daughter's Explorer to from Nevada to Augusta Georgia and when I took our son's Suburban from Nevada to Whidbey Island, a lot of truck drivers complemented me on my tie down. If you ever go to Shiloh be sure to eat at Hagy's Catfish Hotel on the Tennessee River just below the Pickwick dam. All you can eat catfish and watch the tow boats pushing their tows up and down the river while you eat. Just be aware, they are closed on Mondays.

it may be different out in your neck of the woods, but out here on the west coast your required to secure all 4 corners when transporting any vehicle (motorized). And add extra straps/chains when over 10k (but I think that gets into commercial transportation at that point). I learned this getting a ticket for using only one strap on my riding lawnmower to the shop.

Great video! for the camera getting dusty, what works for me is using one of those cheap neck gators and a rubber band. Wrap the gator around the camera so it covers the body and most of the lens and wrap the rubber band at the base of the lens (closest to the camera body). I use this to keep most of the dust out when I go take photos/videos of 4x4 races in the desert.

Put your cameras in a good plastic case cover to keep that dust out of them. Get one that just attaches to the tripod and has a connector to attach a power cord to keep the camera running. If you can get a camera that can be controlled by Bluetooth through your phone, that might be even better! Worst case scenario, use a piece of plexiglass to construct a box to attach on top of the tripod and just put the camera inside...

You should always criss cross yer safety chains on yer trailer, it will cradle the tongue, should it ever drop off the ball.

You should always cross the trailer hitch safety chains, first one you didn't, second time you did.

Nathan - The rear of your quad hops up and down noticeably when you run the electric starter motor to start your gasoline engine. You will see this if you focus on the back of the seat in your video. When you engage the starter the rear of the machine pulls down and when you release the starter (and your gasoline engine is not yet running), the rear of the machine pops back up. This symptom could be from the driveline not fully disengaging from the engine. The small electric starter motor is effectively propelling the whole machine. This extra load on the starter motor will cause it to prematurely fail and will make the engine harder to start - especially with the battery weakening from age. Please do not take offense from me mentioning this. I am trying to be helpful, not critical. If you can identify the cause and fix this issue now, it will save you a lot of money in the long run. Hope this helps.

Why not buy a waterproof container to house your camera in and just wipe it off daily or as needed...
